For archaeologist and mythology scholar Cassian Thorne, it becomes the beginning of a journey through every answer humanity ever gave to what comes next.

After a catastrophic event tears Cassian and his younger sister Lyra from the living world, Cassian awakens in the Crossroads: an impossible realm connecting the afterlives of different civilizations.
