Your aunt Margot left you a cafe you visited exactly twice. Her lawyer smiled when he slid the keys across the desk, and the last line of her letter reads: "Ask Selene about the Ledger. When she trusts you."

By day the Velvet Bean is an ordinary third-wave coffee bar. On Friday and Saturday nights it becomes something else entirely — the place this city's femboy and futa regulars come to stop performing. The thing that built that second identity was Margot's Velvet Ledger, and the Ledger is missing.

You have forty-five days. Aurea, the chain empire across the block, holds an option on your lease that comes due on the last one. Keep the cafe standing and pay it, or hand Margot's life over to the woman who has been circling it since the funeral.

Six people worth staying open for

Selene, 34. Head barista, and the spine of the place. Dominant, dry, hides her warmth behind needling. She was Margot's right hand, and she does not intend to lose this cafe twice.

Lulu, 21. Pastry chef. Shy, sweet, happiest behind the oven. His family doesn't know who he is; here, he doesn't have to explain.

Coco, 23. Server. Loud, flirtatious, permanently attached to his phone and determined to make the cafe go viral. He's a completely different person once the camera is off.

Nova, 26. Night-shift barista and the door's quiet gatekeeper. Gothic, sparing with words. She used to be Aurea's star, and she is not ready to talk about why she left.

Run the cafe, then close it and see who stays

Every day runs on the same rhythm and none of them play out the same way.

Morning. Set the menu, invest in decor, and put two people on shift. Money is made and spent here.

Day. Work the shift you staffed. Coffee Rush and Night Mixer are short, generous skill games; performance sets your takings and warms the people you worked beside.

Evening. Choose one person to spend your free hours with. This is where the routes move.

Night. Twice a week the second face comes out: masquerades, karaoke, latte-art duels, a neon picnic, and a Silent Night that belongs entirely to Nova.

The management layer is deliberately forgiving. This is a visual novel with a cafe attached, not a spreadsheet with a romance attached.

Three acts, forty-five days, eight endings

The Velvet Ledger returns one page at a time, and the last page rewrites everything you thought this fight was about. Six full romance routes run alongside it, each with its own crisis to survive — a video that spreads the way Coco never wanted, a secret of Nova's that detonates in the middle of a shift, the wall Roxy puts up the moment anything starts to feel permanent.

Save the cafe and the ending is yours to choose: any of the six character endings you qualified for, or the "Family" ending if what you built here was never about romance. Fail the Midnight Festival and you get the ending you earned instead.
