About This Game

WORKS: Motorsport Factory is a top-down tycoon sim about everything that happens before a racing car reaches the circuit.

Run a motorsport team from the ground up: manage staff, finances, facilities and car development while trying to stay competitive on a limited budget. Secure sponsors, hire mechanics, source parts and keep the operation running long enough to make it to race day.

Five tiers of motorsport stand between your workshop and the being the most prestigious team in motorsport. Progress is not a straight climb from amateur to champion — it’s a long-term struggle of incremental gains, financial pressure, technical setbacks and outperforming better-funded rivals.

You're not the driver. You're not the pit crew. And you don't sit in front of a TV watching every lap.

You run the operation that makes the racing possible.

Build the car. Prepare the spares. Manage the crew. Get the right driver in the seat. Load the truck. Get everything out of the factory and to the circuit before the departure deadline.

Then the race happens.

When it comes back, so does the report: prize money, championship points, worn parts, crash damage and everything you learned about the car.

Your crew goes to work. Deliveries arrive. Builders get back to work on the new garage. 

Every job takes time. Every job needs someone to do it.

Where you put things, who you hire, how your workshop is laid out and what your crew is doing right now all matter. The factory isn't a menu. It's a working place.

Every car is made from the parts you've actually fitted.

Scavenge used components from the marketplace. Buy new ones when you can afford them. Test them. Wear them out. Break them. Learn what works.

Eventually, stop buying and start making your own.

Design components, manufacture them in-house and test them before trusting them on the track. Strip a car down for the winter and get to work on next seasons car.

Every part has a breaking point. Every part has a finite mileage lifespan. Every part has a performance drop-off that only reveals itself under real conditions.

The better your facilities and the stronger your technical staff, the more of the truth you can uncover. And in a sport where tenths of a second matter, knowledge is often more valuable than raw performance.

Five tiers of racing with many series to reach the top. Whether it's from Karting to Open Wheel or Banger racing to Touring Cars, you're picking the route.

Getting into the next series isn't just about winning.

Drivers have careers of their own. Rivals develop. Sponsors come and go. Contracts have teeth. Regulations change. Last year's dominance can become deemed illegal next season.

You might have the fastest car and no money to run it.

You might have the best driver and nothing worth putting them in.

You might spend an entire season fighting for the last championship point that keeps the team alive.

Then, eventually, you get another chance.

The ultimate goal isn't just to win with somebody else's machinery.

It's to build a racing company that can make its own.

Grow from a workshop into a full constructor with a design studio, multi-material machine shop, wind tunnel and crash-test facilities. Develop your own cars, manufacture the components yourself and eventually homologate a production run of your own marque.

All while running an actual business.

Negotiate contracts. Keep sponsors happy. Borrow money when you need it. Decide where the next pound goes. Expand before you're ready. Take risks because playing it safe won't get you there.
