THERE’S CAKE IN THE BREAK ROOM

Hello, Gary, it’s your birthday! There’s cake waiting in the break room. Unfortunately, the break room is on the 13th floor, and something isn’t quite right with the hallways.

Each time the elevator doors open, carefully inspect the floor. If you spot anything out of the ordinary, go to the elevator at the end of the hall and press the red button. If everything appears normal, press the green button.

Make the right choices and keep climbing toward your birthday cake. Be careful, though. You wouldn’t want to get stuck along the way.

There Is Cake In The Break Room is a horror-comedy with a dark side story. Players should be aware of the following:

- Violence and death: In an optional story sequence, a character is shot and killed (blood is described in text and a gunshot is heard), and the player character is poisoned, dies for a few minutes and is revived. One ending has the player character shot at close range by a security guard. There is no graphic on-screen gore.
- Suicide and self-harm: The same story sequence depicts depression and isolation, heavy drinking, and an overdose on pills, which the narration implies is a suicide attempt. Another branch of the story includes a line about once wanting to kill oneself.
- Alcohol and drug use: Heavy drinking and pill misuse are mentioned in the story text.
- Horror themes: Unsettling anomalies, flashing lights in some hard-mode areas, and a corporate conspiracy storyline.

The mature story content is delivered as short text-based scenes with music and sound effects, not graphic imagery. It is optional: it is triggered by interacting with a particular anomaly.
