Your hands do different jobs

The moment a battle starts, notes begin falling down the left lane. Your right hand picks attacks, skills and defenses; your left hand keeps time. The rhythm is not a minigame on the side — it is the combat.

• Combo sharpens every strike, and from 20 combo your basic attacks land as criticals
  
• Gold notes refill the whole party's MP — the fuel for your skills
  
• Orange notes are the beat of an incoming enemy attack. Parry cleanly and the blow barely lands
  
• Purple notes are the cast beat of skills and ultimates. Nail the timing and they hit 1.4x harder
  
• Fill the gauge and the party strikes as one in a joint Ultimate

If the rhythm is too much, turn on auto-hit in the settings. Notes are played for you, so the battle stays yours no matter your rhythm skill.

A den that changes as you dig

Fifty floors, split into five zones of ten. You start in a moss-choked dungeon and pass through webbed caves, a graveyard of the dead and an abyssal rift before reaching the Lich's throne. Each zone brings its own palette and music, and each ends with a boss whose signature move can only be blocked on rhythm.

Every floor offers a fork: the dangerous path thick with elites but heavy with treasure, the safe path with a guaranteed campfire, the merchant's path. You choose what to risk.

Four companions, thirteen paths

You name your party at the start. They begin as Novices, pick one of Warrior, Rogue, Mage or Priest at level 5, and branch again at 16 — whether yours becomes a Berserker or a Paladin depends on how you raised them.

• 13 jobs, each with its own skills
  
• 20 relics that change the rules rather than the numbers — count GOOD as PERFECT, strike twice with basic attacks, keep your combo through a MISS
  
• Gear with affixes, consumables, merchants, campfires, gambling dens and training grounds

What death leaves behind

Even a wipe pays out: soul shards equal to the depth you reached. Spend them at the Soul Altar on permanent blessings, or break the seals on the most powerful relics. The next expedition starts a little stronger.

The Archive fills with the monsters you have met and the relics you have held, and keeps your fastest clear on every difficulty.
