About This Game

Sleep it off is a first-person anomaly detection game about grief. You are a widower living alone in a two-storey apartment. Every day you wake up, tidy the place, take your medication, and try to get through the day. Some of the things around you are yours. Some of them are hers. And she isn't here anymore.

Find what shouldn't be there. Then go to sleep. If you were wrong, tomorrow will be worse.

How it works

Each day the apartment is almost the same as yesterday. Almost. Something has moved, appeared, or changed - a cup on the wrong shelf, a coat on the hook, a light that was off. Your job is to notice it before you lie down.

Miss an anomaly and it stays. Miss enough of them and the apartment stops being a place you can live in.

Features

  • 60+ hand-placed anomalies, from a mug that shouldn't exist to things you'd rather not have seen

  • A day cycle: chores, pills, sleep - the routine matters, and so does breaking it

  • Five endings, depending on what you noticed and what you let stay

  • Slow, deliberate horror. No jump scares for their own sake - tension comes from knowing something is wrong and not yet knowing what

  • Retro-inspired visuals: low-fi rendering and dim, lived-in spaces built to be searched, not admired
