About This Game

Pennants of Glory: Condottiere is a single-player medieval RTS/RPG about building a mercenary company and leading it through a war that keeps moving with or without you. Command up to 600 soldiers in real-time 3D battles, then return to a living campaign where every casualty, purchase, and contract shapes what you can attempt next.

You command formations, not individual fighters. Draw out each line, turn it toward the threat, choose how tightly its soldiers stand, and give every unit room to do its job.

The plan is yours. Hold open ground with pikes. Move shield infantry through arrow fire. Fix the enemy in place, swing another formation onto its exposed side, and keep your last company fresh until the line begins to fail.

Charges need room and momentum. Tight ranks hold well but turn slowly. Tired soldiers lose their shape, and troops struck from the side may panic and run.
Grow your company into as many as eight persistent formations, each with its own history and battlefield role. Recruit captains, replace losses, train doctrines, and issue equipment from your armory. Build a shielded anchor, a long-pike wall, a fast reserve, or a missile company that can wear down an advance before contact.

Equipment always comes with a cost. Heavy armor keeps soldiers alive but exhausts them sooner. Fine weapons can give a formation an edge, but only while you can afford to maintain and replace them. Veterans become more dependable, captains develop their own strengths.

Battles are decided by space as much as numbers. Soldiers occupy real positions, so casualties, pressure, and bad movement can tear holes in a line. Open a breach and a fresh formation can push through to attack from within. Wait too long and the defender may close it. If your own line splits, commit a reserve, pull the threatened formation back, or risk watching the collapse spread.

Missile fire can pin soldiers behind their shields while your infantry closes. Tired troops slow down and lose their spacing. Battered formations respond poorly, while one nearby rout can frighten troops that were still holding. Read those signs, relieve failing men, and push where the enemy is closest to breaking.

Beyond the battlefield is a full strategic campaign. Settlements produce and consume goods, merchants carry cargo between markets, and raiders prey on the roads. A blocked route can create a shortage in the very town where you planned to replace your armor. That can be a crisis—or a chance to trade at a profit.

Factions raise armies, fight over territory, and lay siege to settlements. Attackers cut land routes and consume supplies; relief forces can arrive before the walls fall; captured towns change hands and move the borders of the realm. Chase contracts through that conflict, hunt raiders, trade between markets, or decide that someone else’s war is too costly to enter.

Your company carries every result forward. The dead leave gaps in veteran ranks. The wounded need time. Ammunition is spent, equipment returns damaged or disappears, and wages still come due. Decide whether to take one more contract, stop to rebuild, or walk away from a fight before victory costs more than it pays.

Key Features

  • Command up to 600 soldiers across five formations in real-time 3D battles with tactical pause.

  • Draw formation lines, set their facing and spacing, and prepare them for the ground and enemy ahead.

  • Build plans around clear battlefield roles: pikes arrest charges, shields cover an advance, missiles hold troops down, and reserves turn exposed flanks.

  • Break openings in enemy lines, commit troops through them, or rush reserves to contain a breach in your own ranks.

  • Grow a persistent company of up to eight formations with developing captains, veteran soldiers, doctrines, and specialized equipment.

  • Trade through an economy of finite markets, settlement production, moving merchants, road raids, and regional shortages.

  • Enter a realm where factions raise armies, fight territorial wars, besiege settlements, send relief forces, and capture towns.

  • Carry deaths, wounds, ammunition use, damaged equipment, wages, debt, and desertion from one contract to the next.
