About This Game

Welcome to a Paradise That No Longer Exists

In the distant future, virtual sensory reconstruction has advanced far enough to deceive human perception itself.People can enter digitally reconstructed worlds, touch objects that do not exist, hear sounds that never occurred, and give forgotten memories a tangible form once again.

Your wife, Ephoros, a neural science engineer, died in an accident two years ago.You only intended to sort through the files she left behind in the virtual world. But an unexpected incident leads you somewhere you were never meant to reach—a beautiful, silent, and fractured [LOST] Paradise.

Search for the Truth Between Two Worlds

404Rander combines two interconnected forms of exploration: a simulated 2D desktop system and 3D semi-open environments.

Explore a Computer from the Future,Navigate a simulated desktop environment. Browse files, launch programs, examine archived data, and search for anomalies hidden deep within the system. Some files contain nothing more than ordinary information.Others... may not want to be found.

As your investigation continues, the computer will gradually become more than a safe window through which you observe another world.

Step Beyond the Screen

Leave the desktop behind and enter 3D spaces constructed from data, memories, and fragmented sensations.

Explore semi-open environments filled with abandoned facilities and anomalous landscapes. Search for key objects, environmental clues, and hidden information as you piece together what happened.

Something discovered on the desktop may become the key to navigating the world beyond it.

And something you encounter in that world may change what awaits you on the other side of the screen.

A Sci-Fi Story About Memory, Death, and the Self

404Rander is built around an original science-fiction setting exploring virtual reality, consciousness, perception, and digital existence.

As you venture deeper, you will encounter remnants of corporations, experimental facilities, technological archives, and people who have long since disappeared—all fragments of a larger story surrounding Ephoros' death.

There is no omniscient narrator to tell you what really happened.Files, programs, environments, images, sounds—even the system itself—can become part of the narrative. And discovering the truth does not necessarily mean finding an answer. When you finally reach the end, the choice remains yours:

Face it. Understand it.

Or—reject it, and bury it with your own hands.

An Experimental Work of Interactive Art

404Rander is also an experimental visual work created through the medium of video games.

Blending avant-garde graphic design, science-fiction interfaces, surreal spaces, environmental storytelling, and meticulously crafted cinematics, the game explores how UI, imagery, environments, and interaction itself can become part of the narrative.

Rather than focusing on combat or mechanically intensive gameplay, 404Rander places greater emphasis on:

An immersive science-fiction narrative and psychological horror atmosphere

Exploration across both a simulated 2D desktop and 3D environments

A richly developed world told through archives and environmental storytelling

Experimental concept art and visual design

Carefully crafted cinematics and narrative sequences

Discovering the story through observation, reading, exploration, and puzzle-solving

If you enjoy slowly losing yourself in an unfamiliar world, reading files you were never meant to find, and piecing together a story that has already fallen apart—

Welcome to 404Rander.

Please remember: everything you see is only perception.
