About This Game

Build a Deep-Sea Ecosystem That Runs on Its Own

Abyssal Evolution is a roguelite about deep-sea aquariums, ecosystem cultivation, and build crafting.

Every run begins with just a handful of basic fish. Deploy new lifeforms, supply nutrients, gather Research Data, and shape your ecosystem from one experiment to the next.

As your population grows, different species begin producing resources, empowering other fish, duplicating rewards, exploiting Pollution, and altering the behavior of the ecosystem around them. What starts as a quiet aquarium gradually transforms into a self-sustaining biological machine built on chain reactions and synergy.

You do not need to control every fish.

Your real goal is to build an aquarium that starts working for you.

Ten Experiments, One Complete Cultivation

Each run consists of 10 Experiments.

Reach the Research Data target in each Experiment, then use the shop between stages to expand your population, acquire Equipment, and collect Research Samples that shape the direction of your current build.

Some builds turn the aquarium into a high-speed feeding engine that rapidly builds Combo. Others focus on producing massive amounts of Bio Resource, while certain ecosystems deliberately operate under high Pollution in exchange for greater rewards.

As the Experiments progress, the aquarium becomes increasingly chaotic.

Your goal is not to maintain a perfectly balanced ecosystem, but to make it powerful enough before it spirals out of control.

Evolve the Fish. Mutate Them Further.

Fish are more than units with different stats.

Each species has its own role within the ecosystem, and through Evolution, basic fish can develop into entirely new lifeforms with different functions.

Through Mutation, individual fish can gain additional organs that further alter their abilities.

These mutations do not remain limited to the fish themselves.

The mutations accumulated throughout a run gradually appear on the Abyssal Core at the center of the aquarium, leaving a visible record of how that cultivation developed.

Push the Core for Greater Rewards

The Abyssal Core slowly accumulates energy as the ecosystem operates.

You can actively stimulate it and push it into higher Overload Stages, increasing Research efficiency while bringing the entire aquarium closer to instability.

Successfully stabilizing the Core may also trigger special Core Events.

Nutrients may suddenly flood the aquarium, Research pulses may spread through the tank, the entire population may enter a frenzy, or enormous deep-sea lifeforms may be drawn toward the cultivation chamber.

Every time you stimulate the Core, you are choosing how far you are willing to push the Experiment in pursuit of greater efficiency.

The Abyss Belongs to More Than Your Fish

As the Experiments progress, hostile Danger Fish may invade the aquarium.

They can devour your fish, steal Nutrients, drain Core energy, take Bio Resource, or intercept the Research Data your ecosystem produces.

You can intervene directly and drive them away, but as the ecosystem becomes more chaotic, you may find yourself dividing your attention between continued expansion and immediate threats.

Rare Giant Lifeforms, however, are not enemies.

They may pass through, observe, or linger around the aquarium in completely different ways, bringing short bursts of valuable Bio Resource and creating some of the most striking deep-sea encounters in each run.

From a Few Fish to a Living Ecosystem Machine

Different combinations of fish, Equipment, Research Samples, Evolution, and Mutation can turn every run into a completely different ecosystem.

You might build a feeding network that rapidly accumulates Combo, turn Pollution itself into a source of profit, or shape the entire aquarium around a specific species or Core Event.

Start with a few unremarkable fish.

Let them evolve, mutate, interact, and amplify one another.

Until the quiet aquarium you began with becomes a high-speed deep-sea ecosystem that can almost run without you.
