About This Demo

STATO Demo

The STATO demo offers an early playable version of the grand strategy sandbox, where nations, economies, and conflicts emerge from a global-scale simulation.

Build a state, develop its economy, secure strategic resources, interact with other powers, and prepare for a world where diplomacy, logistics, and warfare can reshape the balance of power.

Generate Your World

Create a procedurally generated strategic map and discover a different world with every campaign.

Geography, provinces, resources, population, cities, coastlines, and nations come together to create a new geopolitical landscape for you to understand and exploit.

There is no predetermined story. The starting conditions create the world; nations and your decisions determine what happens next.

Rewrite History from 1934

The demo also includes a historical scenario set in 1934, built on a highly detailed global map of approximately 26,000 provinces.

Take control of a nation, develop its industry and infrastructure, secure the resources you need, and navigate a world on the verge of dramatic change.

History provides the starting point. From there, what happens is up to you.

Experiment with STATO's Systems

Manage population, economy, industry, infrastructure, and resources. Build relationships with other nations, navigate rivalries and international crises, and prepare your country for war.

Mobilize your forces, organize the front lines, and fight conflicts where production, logistics, geography, and preparation can matter just as much as numerical superiority.

Every province is part of the simulation: cities, infrastructure, resources, population, and geography all contribute to a state's strengths and vulnerabilities.

Whether you begin in a procedurally generated world or in 1934, STATO doesn't tell you a predetermined story: it creates the conditions for one to emerge from the simulation.

An Evolving Demo

This demo represents an early stage in the development of STATO.

Some mechanics are currently limited, and some systems already visible in the interface or game may not yet be active or fully functional.

Content, balance, interface, performance, and mechanics will continue to evolve throughout development.

The demo is also a way to get STATO into players' hands as early as possible and see what happens when they start pushing its systems beyond what we anticipated.

Play. Experiment. Break the game.

And help us shape what STATO will become.
