Why Early Access?

“We want to develop the game with players in mind. We want to get feedback as early as possible regarding the game mechanics, difficulty, balancing and enemy scaling. We also want to get suggestions from players of features to enhance the user experience. We are excited to collaborate with players in the development of Gloomy Tavern Stories!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our plan is to stay 1-2 years in early access before 1.0 Release. But it can be influenced by the players based on their inputs and feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have more content. We are planning to expand the crafting system, housing system, quest giving system, puzzles, items, heroes, monsters, bosses and story in the full version. These contents will be affected by the input and feedback of the early access players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable. There are 10 levels to complete. A boss fight in the tenth level. 7 heroes can be hired as mercenaries. Lots of items can be crafted. Players can build workbenches and houses. Players can give quests to heroes. Fight different kinds of monsters and a boss. First region is playable and can be fully explored. The second region is accessible after the first boss fight but no contents yet except for treasure chests.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to raise the price upon full 1.0 release, to reflect the added value.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are planning to have an official Discord server channel dedicated to play test feedback, feature voting, or balance discussions. And regular Steam News updates detailing patch notes, roadmaps, and dev logs.”
