About This Game

Shrine Train is a character-driven survival narrative game set aboard an end-times engineering train. You don’t drive the locomotive—you make the calls for a carful of people who could fall apart at any moment: who goes out today, what you’re willing to trade for, whose line you can cross once, and whether to answer a broadcast no one can decode.

How a day unfolds

  • Daytime away team: Choose who goes, how hard you search—and always leave someone to hold the train.

  • Encounters: You aren’t picking A or B. You’re choosing who takes the lead, how they do it, and how much you spend.

  • Event checks: Base roll, character stats, train modifiers, status penalties, and bond bonuses resolve beat by beat in animation—then land on one of five tiers, from critical success to catastrophe.

  • After nightfall: Choose your heading, your night actions, and face what finds you on the rails.

Capability decides who you can send. Personality decides whether you should.

Thirteen characters can board. Each one is written with what they want, what they fear, what they will never accept—and under what conditions they truly change. Every choice you make is stamped with a value tag. They speak up on the spot, they remember, and days later they answer you with what they do.

Multiple paths to an ending

  • Gather radio scraps and frequencies, get a signal out, then face whether rescue will take a train of “unclean” people.

  • Follow the hive’s hum toward the mother, stockpile firepower, and in the finale pour every round you have into one last stand.

  • Take the third road. It isn’t on the menu. When something wrong starts appearing aboard the train at the same time, something begins to notice you—first as unreadable white noise on the radio, then as different people dreaming the same building, until a station that should not exist shows up on the map.
