What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is intended to be playable by the start of the new 2026/27 Bundesliga season, with the aim of involving the community in its improvement and further development as early as possible.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A timeframe of 6–12 months currently seems realistic.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core framework is continuously being expanded through new features, new content, fine-tuning, and the incorporation of player feedback. For instance, there are plans to gradually integrate national teams and playable foreign leagues.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a fully playable football management game. Already included: three German professional leagues with promotion/relegation, cup and European competition plus simulated foreign leagues; a live match ticker with team talks, substitutions and full-screen overlays for goals, red cards and injuries; a complete transfer system (negotiations, loans, pre-contracts, release clauses, a one-transfer-per-season rule); squad life with captain and team council elections; club economics with sponsors, TV money and stadium expansion; over 100 random and decision events with recurring characters, shuffled uniquely per save; career history with season comparison, training, youth academies, injuries and suspensions; widescreen support and autosaving.

All features described in the "About This Game" section are implemented and playable in the current build. Please note: the game is currently available in German only. An English version is in development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually increase the price as we release more content and features.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback from various channels is regularly analyzed and incorporated into future development steps.

About This Game

A football manager like they don't build them anymore

LemonFC is an old-school management game: you run a German football club — no glossy 3D, just tables, conversations and a live ticker that knows when a match is drama and when it's comedy. Deep simulation, plenty of humour, zero microtransactions.

Please note: the game is in German only at this time.

Negotiation is half the game

Every club and every sponsor has a personality you get to know over the seasons. One is patient, one hot-headed, one holds a grudge — strike the wrong tone and you'll face closed doors for weeks. In transfers you haggle against rival bidders over fees, wages, signing bonuses, contract lengths and release clauses. With sponsors you negotiate base payments, matchday money and contract duration — promise more commercial shoots and you'll get more cash, but less peace in your squad.

Dressing room, board, private life

Before kick-off, at half-time, after the final whistle: your team talk matters — seven styles, and not every one fits every moment. The board is watching, the press asks awkward questions, and at home there's a private life that wants attention. Yes, really: you can date, marry, have children — and your choices there echo on the pitch.

A live ticker with heart

No two matches play out the same. Ticker scenes grow out of your players' actual abilities: a keeper with sharp reflexes saves differently from one with great positioning, and a red card changes the tone of the whole game. In between: atmosphere, banter, little stories — subtle humour that never breaks the logic.

A whole football world

  • Three German divisions, the cup, European competition and foreign leagues

  • Transfer windows, pre-contracts, moves, AI clubs that manage their own finances

  • Stadium expansion, pitch care, marketing, licensing procedures, crises and press conferences

  • Training with assistant and goalkeeping coaches, friendlies, winter and summer breaks as real calendar time

  • Hundreds of random events with cultural references and dry wit

Your names, your world

All names in the game are fictional — but the built-in name editor lets you rename any club and share your changes as a small file. The community maintains, the manager manages.

Honestly built

LemonFC is the work of a single developer. Early Access here means: the game is playable from season one onwards, it grows continuously, and your feedback doesn't land in a ticket system — it lands with the person.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

LemonFC was developed with AI assistance (including Anthropic Claude) for writing and revising program code and for drafting German-language in-game event texts. The graphics and texts of this store page (capsule images, descriptions) were also created or drafted using AI tools. All content — in-game and on the store page — was reviewed, edited and approved by the developer; game design and balancing are the developer's own work. The game does not generate AI content at runtime — all content is fixed before release and human-approved. No player data is sent to AI services.
