About This Game

This is not a traffic simulator or a diorama maker — it's a true city simulation game.

CityGenesis is a city-building simulation in which you cultivate a living economy. Every single citizen chooses an occupation, chooses what goods to buy, and chooses where to live. Every single company chooses where to open its doors and adjusts its prices. Your city develops through the accumulation of these countless economic activities. Prices fluctuate constantly; businesses naturally open where there is profit to be made, and pull out where there isn't. Large buildings rise where people gather, while areas that fall out of favor decline. Every boom and every bust you witness is a consequence of the economy.

As the ruler of a small city-state, you draw up construction plans for roads and districts, allocate the budget, and adjust laws and regulations. Run the city poorly and industry will fail to grow, leaving your citizens in poverty; neglect it entirely and your city will descend into slums.

Now, begin the genesis of your own city.

Unrestricted urban planning

Roads and land parcels can all be created in completely free-form shapes. For public transit lines, both the tracks and the platforms can be laid out however you like.
Be aware, however, that complex or impractical layouts lead to lower transport efficiency and soaring construction costs. To make efficient use of your limited funds, study the terrain closely and consider carefully which routes and shapes make the most economic sense.

A skyline shaped by the scale of the economy

Buildings of all kinds and sizes emerge in response to the flow of people and land values. Just as in a real city, countless buildings of varying shapes and heights come together to form a complex, richly textured urban landscape.

Analyze vast amounts of data

The city accumulates more economic data than you could ever finish analyzing, no matter how much time you spend. Time does not advance while you are deliberating over policy, so take as long as you need to settle on your direction.

Diorama Mode & Map Editor

In addition to Mission Mode, where you drive the economy and grow your city, there is also a Diorama Mode that lets you build roads and buildings without limits. You can even create your own terrain freely, from scratch.
