About This Game

Your childhood toy battles come to life.

Green Brigade is a story-driven third-person shooter where plastic army men wage all-out war across an ordinary house. You are Sergeant Rook of the Green Brigade, back on home soil that isn't Green anymore - and leading the counterattack against the Tan Army's occupation, from the back garden to the kitchen, inside the fridge and all the way up to the attic. Inspired by the classic Army Men games, built for anyone who ever staged a war on the living room carpet.

A War With Real Consequences

Major Molden runs the Tan war machine like a household empire: absolute control, any sacrifice. He talks to you after every level, and by the end it's personal. Every yard is his. Every room is his. Take them back.

Operation Green Dawn - the full campaign

Seven missions, each opened with a recon flyover of your objectives and guided by on-screen waypoints:

  • Walk in the Garden - knock out the Tan AA gun and radar, then storm the house.

  • Home Crashers - hunt down Captain Tansome across the living room and kitchen, cut the Tan radio net and rescue a captured operator.

  • A Cold Affair - inside the refrigerator: free the prisoners and blow the battery reserves.

  • A Night to Remember - a night drop into the master bedroom. Sabotage the motor pool and stay out of the lamplight, or the sirens go up.

  • Rub a Dub Tub - the Tan HQ in the bathroom. Steal Molden's intel and take out Lieutenant Tannson.

  • Counter Measures - hold FOB GreenDemption through an eleven-wave siege.

  • Heroes and Villains - fight through the attic fortress-town to Major Molden himself.

Play it alone or with a friend in local split-screen co-op.

Game Modes

  • Campaign - Operation Green Dawn, solo or split-screen co-op.

  • Survival - The Green Thin Line (10 waves in the back garden) and Tabletop Turf War (12 waves of street fighting, unlocked by beating the campaign). Spend your points at the weapon crate, call in reinforcements, see the medic and plan the defence from Field Command between waves.

  • Quick Battle - set up your own fight on four maps: The Playroom, Bathtub Battle (fall in the water and you're out), Garage Assault (tanks, half-tracks, troop trucks and helicopters) and D-Day. Choose squad sizes, score and time limits, allies and bot skill. Play solo, co-op against the bots, or head-to-head in split-screen versus.

  • Invasion - storm Omaha Beach on Grandpa's library table. Land in Higgins boats under a naval barrage, then take the beach a phase at a time: capture the flags, blow the casemates, seize the farmhouse command post. Armies of up to 32 a side, with tanks, half-tracks and artillery.

  • Abominations - Round-based survival against melted plastic horrors on two maps, The Game Box and The Dollhouse. Board up windows, buy guns off the walls, hire your own squad, and watch out for BIG BLUE and the DeathScream. Solo or split-screen co-op.

  • Boot Camp - a nine-station proving ground: obstacle course, climbing tower, armory, firing range, grenade pit, cover drills, demolitions and a final exam.

Features

  • Toy soldier-scale combat - fight across rugs, countertops, shelves and bathtubs where a soda can is a bunker and a sandbox is a desert.

  • Plastic that breaks - soldiers lose arms, legs and heads with a satisfying pop. A soldier who loses his gun arm keeps fighting with his pistol.

  • Full arsenal - rifles, battle rifles, shotguns, sniper and marksman rifles, grenades, a shoulder-fired bazooka, a flamethrower, and mounted machine-gun nests you can crew.

  • Flamethrowers that melt plastic - strap an M2 to your back, hose down a trench and watch the Tan Army sag into puddles of molten plastic. And keep an eye out for the Tan flamethrower troopers in their gas masks - they close in fast.

  • Vehicles - drive tanks, ride half-tracks, and face troop trucks, helicopters, mortar teams and turrets.

  • Fight smart - snap to cover, blind-fire around corners and sneak past guards who notice you in the light.

  • Local split-screen - co-op through the campaign, Survival, Quick Battle and Abominations, or versus in Quick Battle.

  • Unlockable outfits - find hidden Tan intel in every mission and dress your soldier in the Barracks.

  • Voiced radio chatter - Colonel Grunt, Sergeant Rook and Major Molden on the radio as the war unfolds.

Coming soon: Operation Dusk Reckoning

The war isn't over. A second campaign, told from the other side of the line, is in the works.

Every yard is a battlefield. Every room is a warzone. Welcome to the Green Brigade.

A Message from the Developer

Hi, and thank you for checking out Green Brigade.

This game is made by one person. I'm a full-time parent and a husband to my beautiful wife, the owner of two businesses, and a volunteer at my church. I'm also an Army veteran who grew up playing the classic Army Men games and always dreamed of making a game like them myself. Green Brigade is my first project.

It was built in the spare hours around a very full life, and I've put everything I have into it. I'd love to hear what you think, and your feedback helps me make it better.

Thank you for supporting a solo developer, and for sharing my love of toy soldiers.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Green Brigade includes a small number of AI-assisted placeholder assets used during development, such as temporary voice lines and certain promotional artwork. These assets are being progressively replaced with original, human-created content as development continues. Our long-term goal is to replace all AI-generated assets with human-created alternatives.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Green Brigade contains stylized combat between plastic toy soldiers and oversized insects. Defeated toy soldiers may melt, shatter, or break apart as part of the game's plastic-themed aesthetic. Some insect enemies display brief non-realistic insect gore or particle effects when defeated. The game does not contain realistic human gore, sexual content, nudity, drug use, or graphic violence.
