About This Game

About Resonurgy

Resonurgy is a single-player game about exploring a technomagical world and building an automated factory.

You begin with very few resources and no established production. Your first materials must be found and gathered by hand. Over time, you will construct a Nexus, build your first machines, and turn a small workshop into a working industrial complex.

Explore the World

Travel through a procedurally generated world, locate resource deposits, and scan unknown objects with your resonator.

Scanning reveals the composition of materials and adds new entries to your codex. This knowledge is used for research and helps you understand which properties can be extracted from different objects.

Build Production Lines

Place drills, conveyors, inserters, smelters, and assembly machines. Items physically move between buildings, so the position and direction of every machine matters.

When production stops, you can follow the entire resource path and identify the problem. A conveyor may face the wrong way, a storage container may be full, the power supply may be insufficient, or a required component may be missing.

Conduct Research

New technology is not unlocked by simply clicking a button in a menu. You must first study the right materials, produce physical research media, and deliver them to a powered research bench.

During research, you assemble a resonance circuit using known principles. Connections have a direction, and every node has a specific role. Once the circuit is complete, you must test it with a calibration pulse and correct any mistakes.

Work with the Principles of Matter

Some machines can dissolve physical objects and extract the principles contained within them. These principles can be purified, stored in specialized vessels, and transported through a separate logistics network.

Ordinary resources provide an object's physical form. Principles define its unusual properties. Advanced production chains will require both systems.

Monitor the State of the World

Unstable processes generate Dissonance and gradually affect the surrounding area. As your factory grows, controlling its impact becomes increasingly important.

Sources of contamination can be located, isolated, and purified. The fastest production method will not always be the safest one.

Key Features

  • A persistent procedurally generated world.

  • A controllable character with inventory and equipment.

  • Conveyors with physically visible items.

  • Production chains, power networks, and storage systems.

  • Object scanning and an expanding codex of matter.

  • Research circuits with directional connections.

  • Extraction, storage, and transportation of principles.

  • Dissonance created by industrial activity.

  • Free-form construction with no timed waves.

Start by gathering a few pieces of ore by hand. Build toward a factory that combines machinery, alchemy, and the hidden properties of the world.
