What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our adventure at IdleBound is just beginning, and we'd rather build the rest of it with players than without them. The core is playable today: 18 skills, five regions, three bosses, ten quests and offline progress. But a lot is still to come, from new skills like Farming and Thieving to clue scrolls, Mastery, achievements and daily contracts, plus more content, more art and plenty of polish. An idle game also lives or dies on its pacing: how fast you level, how long a grind feels, and what's worth leaving running overnight. The only way to get that right is with real players putting in real hours. Expect balance changes, rough edges and the occasional bug along the way, and tell us what you think. Your feedback will shape what IdleBound becomes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming to leave Early Access in the second quarter of 2027. That's our target, not a promise: if player feedback shows something needs more time, we'll take it rather than rush it, and we'll post any change to the plan in the game's news on Steam.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to add:

Farming: plant seeds that grow in real time, whether the game is open or not.
Thieving: pickpocket townsfolk and raid market stalls for coins, seeds, gems and clue scrolls.
Clue scrolls: rare treasure trails that lead you around the world to a casket of unique rewards.
Mastery: every resource and recipe levels up the more you use it, with skill-wide bonuses on top.
Bigger boss fights: kill counts, milestones, boss pets and special mechanics, plus bosses for the earlier regions.
Achievements, daily contracts and skill capes, so every session has a goal.
Gem cutting and jewellery, and shooting stars that crash into a different region every two hours.

As well as plenty of new, exciting skills and content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“IdleBound is fully playable, from a fresh character all the way to the endgame bosses. It includes:

18 skills, each with seven tiers of materials, and skill checks that reward active play while gathering.
Melee, ranged and magic combat against 21 monsters, including three bosses, with gear from wooden to rune and three boss-only armour sets.
Five regions, ten quests, five achievement diaries, and Slayer tasks and titles.
More than 300 items, a collection log and five pets.
Up to 8 hours of offline progress, a five-action queue and a "While you were away" report.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. IdleBound will cost the same during and after Early Access, and buying it now gets you the full version when it releases.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam Community hub. We'll read the discussions and reviews, take bug reports there, and post patch notes and roadmap updates in the news so you can always see what changed and what's next. When we're deciding what to build next, or how a feature should work, we'll ask players directly with polls and discussion threads, and the balance will be tuned around how people actually play. The roadmap isn't fixed: if there's something you want in IdleBound, tell us.”

About This Game

IdleBound is an idle RPG for players who love the grind of classic MMOs but not the hours of clicking. Pick a skill, start an action, and your character keeps working, even with the game closed.

Master 18 skills

Mine, fish, chop, forage, forge, craft, cook, brew, fletch and bind runes, then turn what you make into better gear. Every gathering and production skill climbs the same seven tiers: ore from bronze to ember, logs from normal to elder, and fish from shrimp to shark.

Stay sharp: while you watch, skill checks pop up as you gather. Strike the cracks in the rock or hook the fish at just the right moment, and a streak of hits makes you gather up to 40% faster. Miss them, or walk away, and you lose nothing.

Gear up from wooden to legendary

Smith melee armour, stitch ranged sets from hides and weave magic robes from thread and runes. The ladder climbs from wooden to rune and ends in three boss-only sets: Draken, Miasmic and Dellwarden.

Fight with melee, ranged or magic

Every monster has a weakness. Bring the right style and the right food, then take on The Bonecarver, the Dread Revenant and the Abyssal Drake.

Explore five regions

Travel from the fields of Ashvale through Thornwood, Deepstone Mines and Bleakhaven Ruins into The Voidscar. Each has its own monsters, resources, shop and achievement diary.

Quests, diaries and Slayer

Complete 10 quests, five achievement diaries and Slayer tasks for titles and permanent rewards.

Collect everything

More than 300 items, rare drops and five pets to find, all tracked in your collection log.

Progress while you're away

Queue up to five actions and close the game. When you come back, a "While you were away" report shows every level, kill and item you earned. Progress counts for up to 8 hours away, and you can earn a longer limit as you play.

Early Access

IdleBound is still growing. Farming, Thieving, clue scrolls, Mastery, achievements and more are on the way, and your feedback will shape what comes next.
