About This Game

Even in death, your head will not stay put.

You are the ghost of a fallen warrior, headless.
Hollow armor moved by drifting miasma, you simply walk on — through a fog-drowned riverbed of the dead, through an endless underworld.

Each severed head you find and put on changes the hell you arrive in. A fox mask. A hannya demoness. An otafuku. A tin doll. The blank face of a stranger from a future age. The head you wear decides which nightmare opens next.

The guide's question

In each hell waits a girl who calls herself "Utsuwa" — the Vessel. How you answer her question, and which head you currently wear, together carry you to the next world.

Answer sanely, or answer mad. The more deranged your choices, the heavier your karma grows — and the more the worlds themselves begin to warp.

The hells you wander

An endless tatami room. A masquerade of beast-faced dancers. A drowned world. A graveyard of dead radio waves. A village of scarecrows.

This pilgrimage after death braids serene Japanese scenery with absurdities that fit neither era nor reason. No gore — just a quiet, creeping wrongness beneath the skin.

Yomi Eight — an anomaly-hunting mode

A self-contained second mode in the style of Japanese "spot-the-anomaly" horror. Walk a looping corridor: if something is wrong — a face where none belongs, a sign subtly changed, a shadow that shifts — turn back. If nothing is amiss, walk on. Eight anomalies wait in the dark.

Features

  • Swap heads — the head you wear decides which hells you can reach
  • A walking nightmare — no goal, no "right" ending; a dreamlike pilgrimage through the afterlife
  • Karma — choices made in madness bend the world out of shape
  • The Map — every hell you visit is inked onto a chart; fill enough of it and "the End" arrives
  • Yomi Eight — a second mode: spot the "anomaly" hidden in eight looping corridors
  • Death poems — fleeting verses murmured by the wandering dead

Full keyboard and controller support. Walk your own way through the underworld.
