What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ProdRoads is already fully usable for real-world production planning. We are launching in Early Access to validate workflows across real-world projects and improve the experience through community feedback before version 1.0.

Our goal during Early Access is not to redesign the application, but to polish it: streamline workflows, improve usability, fix issues uncovered through day-to-day use, and make the full release as solid and reliable as possible.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately one to three months. ProdRoads is already fully usable, and this period will focus on refining workflows, improving stability, and incorporating feedback from real-world productions before version 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already includes the major features needed for real-world production planning. We expect version 1.0 to differ primarily through refinement rather than expansion, with smoother workflows, improved usability and stability, and overall quality improvements informed by community feedback. We may also introduce smaller improvements or features where feedback reveals clear value, but our priority is to make ProdRoads as reliable, intuitive, and polished as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is intended for real-world production planning and already includes all major features described on this store page.

ProdRoads Editor is available through Steam. The free ProdRoads Reader is distributed separately through the official ProdRoads website, allowing anyone to open and follow the same roadmap files without purchasing an Editor license.

During Early Access, we will continue refining workflows, improving usability and stability, and incorporating feedback gathered from real-world production use.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“ProdRoads will be offered at a reduced price during Early Access. We plan to increase the price when version 1.0 is released, reflecting the transition to a fully polished release.

The reduced price rewards our first users for supporting the project and helping us refine ProdRoads through real-world production use.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During Early Access, we will use the Steam Community and our official communication channels to collect bug reports, usability feedback, and examples from real-world production workflows. Community feedback will help us prioritize fixes and workflow refinements, with particular attention given to recurring issues affecting real production use. Meaningful improvements will be communicated through Steam announcements and release notes.

Our priority throughout Early Access is to refine the existing experience rather than significantly expand its scope, making ProdRoads as intuitive, reliable, and polished as possible for version 1.0.”

About This Software

Complex productions become difficult to follow.

As projects grow, planning becomes scattered across meetings, documents, spreadsheets, and individual tools. Tasks multiply, schedules evolve, and different teams need different perspectives on the same work.

ProdRoads brings everything together in one clear, visual production roadmap. Keep planning organized, coordinate work across teams, and maintain a roadmap that stays readable as your project evolves.

Keep everything in one clear roadmap.

A production roadmap should stay clear, no matter how your project grows.

Plan tasks, milestones, groups, teams, people, and key dates in a single visual timeline. Reorganize work whenever needed while keeping your roadmap structured, readable, and easy to maintain.

  • Tasks, milestones, and groups

  • Teams, people, and portraits

  • Key production dates

  • A roadmap designed to scale with your production

See the plan from every angle.

The same roadmap should answer different questions.

Switch instantly between Per Topic, Per People, and Time Summary to focus on exactly what matters, without duplicating data or maintaining multiple planning files.

Connect work that depends on other work.

When one task moves, the rest of the production should still make sense.

Create dependencies between roadmap blocks, keep dependency paths visible, and choose dependency types that automatically shift linked work when schedules change. Dependencies can also connect blocks across referenced External Files, making large productions easier to coordinate.

  • Multiple dependency types

  • Visible dependency paths

  • Automatic schedule shifts

  • Dependencies across External Files

Your roadmap stays under your control.

Your production data belongs to you.

ProdRoads is local-first by design. Projects are stored as local project files that you organize, back up, and share however you choose, without requiring any online service.

  • Local-first

  • No account required

  • No telemetry

  • No cloud required

Share the same roadmap with everyone.

Everyone should follow the same production plan, even if they don't edit it.

Create and maintain your roadmap in ProdRoads Editor, then let anyone open the exact same roadmap with the free ProdRoads Reader. Artists, designers, programmers, producers, clients, and external partners can all follow the roadmap without requiring an Editor license.

Organize large productions across multiple roadmaps.

Large productions naturally grow beyond a single roadmap.

Workspaces let multiple roadmap files share teams, people, portraits, and key dates, while optional auto-sync keeps this shared production data consistent.

External Files allow one roadmap to reference and display other roadmaps alongside the main production, while dependencies can connect work across roadmap files.

  • Shared teams, people, portraits, and key dates

  • Optional workspace auto-sync

  • Referenced External Files

  • Dependencies across roadmaps

Build the roadmap everyone follows.

Whether you're producing a game, an animated film, an event, or any other complex production, ProdRoads helps transform scattered planning into a roadmap the whole team can understand.

Build it clearly. Keep it up to date. Let everyone follow the same roadmap.
