You're not an investor. You're the reason the chart moves.

Pick a garbage stock, stake your bankroll, and pump it. Every pump climbs your multiplier and cranks the bust risk, printed in plain numbers right on the button. Cash out a second early and you leave money on the table. A second late and you are the money on the table. Every bust is your own greedy fault, because the cash out button was right there the whole time.

THE CLIMB

Survive 8 markets, each with a profit quota that comes due. Between rounds you hit the back room: hire crew whose powers run permanently, stack your deck with dirtier pump cards, scout new stocks. Boss rounds bend the rules against you. The PUMP POLICE disable your basic pump. The AUDITOR taxes anything above 3x. MARGIN CALL forces you to bet big whether you like it or not. Bank profit past the quota and the house tips you extra for the greed.

WHY "GREATER FOOL"

The greater fool theory says it doesn't matter that what you're holding is worthless. You profit as long as a greater fool buys it from you at a higher price. Every pump in this game is that bet. Cash out and you found your fool. Bust, and the fool was you.

Nothing in GREATER FOOL is generated while you play. Every run is
deterministic code with seeded randomness, all music and sound is
synthesized live by the game itself, and no art comes from an image
generator: the pixel art, the icons, and the store images are drawn
in code, shape by shape.

which I edited and rewrote to fit the voice of the game.
