UnderMoon is a single-player dark fantasy turn-based tactical roguelike RPG. Plan your moves on a square grid, combine weapons and skills, and use elements and terrain to turn the battle in your favor.

You awaken in an unfamiliar town, home to castaways from different races, eras, and worlds. No one knows who brought them here, and no one has found a way to leave. Gather your equipment and supplies, step through mysterious portals, and uncover the secrets of this world.

A Single Step Can Turn the Fight

Hold narrow passages, knock enemies back to gain space, and move out of danger before a boss strikes. Movement, attacks, and skills advance through turns. Assess enemy positions and attack ranges, and watch for boss attack telegraphs before deciding your next move.

Enemies and bosses bring distinct abilities and battlefield mechanics. Adjust your position and the order of your skills to meet the encounter in front of you.

Turn the Environment into a Weapon

Set the ground ablaze, spread lightning through water, or force enemies onto hazardous terrain. Water, ice, fire, lightning, acid, and steam affect combat, opening up more ways to combine your weapons and skills.

The same hazards can threaten you, too. Before using the environment, leave yourself room for your next move.

Find Your Own Way to Fight

Choose a race, distribute your attributes, and shape your growth through skill trees. Build your approach with melee weapons, bows, firearms, elemental magic, psionics, summons, and defensive abilities, then bring it together with equipment and consumables.

Make your abilities work together: control enemies, create space for ranged attacks, or call on summons to help you fight. Bosses in some areas also grant a powerful Tower Gift, opening new directions for your build during the current run.

Prepare for the Unknown

Step through portals to explore distinct themed areas spanning multiple floors. Handcrafted spaces and procedural layouts bring different routes, traps, enemies, and bosses.

Darkness, visibility, and traps test your judgment; hunger, food, and medicine test your preparation. Complete an area's challenge, return to town to talk, trade, and adjust your equipment, then choose your next portal.

Death ends your current run. Put what you have learned about enemies, the environment, and your build to work as you step through the portals again, searching for a way out of this moonlit world.
