What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Fat Cat Survivors is being developed with community feedback in mind. Early Access gives us the opportunity to get the game into players’ hands while continuing to improve, balance, and expand it. Player feedback will be especially valuable for determining which weapons, upgrades, enemies, and features are the most fun and where the game can be improved.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Fat Cat Survivors to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months. This may change depending on player feedback and the scope of features and content we decide to add during development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand Fat Cat Survivors throughout Early Access with additional weapons, upgrades, enemies, challenges, achievements, and other content. We also plan to continue improving progression, balancing, performance, and overall polish based on player feedback.

Our goal for the full version is to offer more variety between runs, more ways to build and upgrade your cat, and a more complete and polished overall experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core Fat Cat Survivors gameplay experience and is fully playable. Players can battle increasingly chaotic waves of enemies, collect food and coins, purchase upgrades, unlock and use different weapons, and experiment with different builds.

The core systems are in place, but balancing, progression, content variety, UI, performance, and overall polish are areas we plan to continue improving throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Fat Cat Survivors at a lower price during Early Access. As the game grows with additional content, features, and polish, we may increase the price over the course of development or when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is a major reason we're launching in Early Access. We plan to actively listen to player feedback, bug reports, balance suggestions, and ideas throughout development.

We also want the community to have a voice in the game's direction. Feedback may help influence future weapons, upgrades, enemies, quality-of-life improvements, and other additions. We'll also be sharing the development process through social media and Steam updates so players can follow along as Fat Cat Survivors evolves.”
