About This Game

RENDHELM — THE DRAGONSEA

An age ago the World-Wyrm fell from the heavens and struck the center of the world. Its body became the land. Its blood — the Ichor— became all magic. And the vast inland sea that filled the crater still holds the perfect shape of a dragon reared and rampant: jaws flung wide toward the west, tail curling over the northern waters, claws reaching into the south. No cartographer drew this. The world remembers the shape it was given.

Four thousand years later, in the black abyss at the sea's heart, the dragon's heart has begun to beat again. The veins of magic are surging; monsters bloat with stolen power; spells grow wilder by the year. They call it the Quickening — and no one knows whether it means the Wyrm is finally dying, or waking.

You are one human against a breaking world. Gather what allies fortune allows, grow strong, and slay the five dragons that stir in the Dragonsea — or die trying, as most do.

Rendhelm is a deep, lore-rich text RPG where every system feeds the next: the magic that makes you strong is the same magic that corrupts you, the gold that buys your power is the gold that buys back your life, and the sword in your hand is a story of everything you killed to forge it.

⚔ Advanced Text Combat

Command a field party of up to four against wolfpacks, warbands, and Quickening-born horrors. Combat is a turn-based dice clash — initiative decided by level and strength, every blow an attack roll against a defense roll, with critical hits, misses, and hard-earned victories. Distinct attack styles — blade, arrow, blast, unarmed, and claw — play by different rules, and a living bond-and-rage system means who you kill first matters as much as how: strike down the wrong enemy and a tight pack erupts in vengeance, while your own companions rage to avenge a fallen friend. Every fight is a puzzle of targeting, resource, and nerve.

✦ The Weaving — Magic That Answers to the Land

All magic is the dragon's blood seen through seven hues: frost, ember, vitalism, mire, sun, stone, and tide. Your power rises and falls with the ground beneath your feet — a fire-weaver is a god in the volcanic Emberwastes and nearly mute on the frozen Frostcrown — so where you fight matters as much as how. But the Ichor is the blood of a dying god, and it never gives freely. Reach past your limit and the magic backlashes into your own flesh. Draw too deep, too often, and you begin to become your element — a corruption called Taint that only grows crueler, and more seductively powerful, the further it spreads. Let it reach its end and you are Hollowed: no longer a person, no revival, your run over. There are only three sanctums in all the world that can cleanse you, and each charges more than raising the dead. Power always has a price — and you choose, every fight, whether to pay it.

🩸 Surge Cards — Instant Power, Mid-Clash

Collect Veinsurges: one-use surge cards of raw Ichor, played in a heartbeat's pause in the middle of a clash — a killing blast, a party-wide ward, a stolen turn, a legendary Dragonpulse. Seventy-five cards across the seven hues plus five escalating relics of the dragon's own blood. Cards scale to the fight so they never fall behind, hit harder in your homeland and in your attuned hue — and your enemies carry hidden decks of their own, so the pause cuts both ways.

🗡 Millions of Truly Unique Weapons, Armor & Artifacts

This is the beating heart of the loot. Nothing in Rendhelm is a fixed entry on a table. Every weapon is a stack of independently-rolled parts — base type, metal, haft, geometry, edge, workmanship, elemental imbuement, and affix — for over 8 million discrete weapon combinations, with more than a million for armor and hundreds of thousands for artifacts on top. Then continuous rolls — exact sharpness, damage magnitude, elemental percentage — layer over all of it, so the real space is effectively unlimited. You will pull weapons, armor, and charms that no other player will ever hold.

[]Loot scales to the kill — hunt deadlier things to unlock better metals, higher rarity, and richer elemental imbues. The perfect drop is always one harder kill away.[]Chase the roll — climb the Crude → Common → Fine → Superior → Masterwork → Exquisite → Legendary ladder, where each tier is worth roughly ten times the last and a god-rolled blade is worth a fortune.[]Three pillars of gear — weapons across sixteen-plus base types, a full suit of armor from featherlight caster-cloth to legendary dragon-plate, and artifact charms (belts, rings, necklaces, earrings, sashes) that tilt your stats, speed, and elemental defenses.[]Every weapon is attuned to a hue — so the blade you swing is also part of your magic build, and a lucky drop can rewrite how you fight.

🔨 The Forge — Salvage, Enhance, and Gamble for Greatness

Most drops aren't meant to be swung — they're meant to be broken down. Salvage unwanted gear into raw materials — keenstone to sharpen an edge, granite to add crushing weight, furnace-smelted lava and frost-brine and auric acid to raise a weapon's fire, frost, or lightning — then tinker those materials into the gear you love to make it genuinely better.

But enhancement is a risk-versus-reward gamble, not a guarantee. Each item holds only a limited number of upgrade slots — one on Crude gear, up to seven on a Legendary. Every tinker is a skill check: the higher you've ground your crafting skills, the better your odds and the bigger the bonus — but fail, and you lose the material; botch a high-tier item and you can burn a precious slot for good. Each successive upgrade on the same item demands more skill and gives a little less, so a truly perfected weapon is a long, deliberate, nerve-testing project — and a masterpiece you built yourself, one calculated risk at a time.

🐾 Companions & the Kleffons

You don't have to face the Dragonsea alone. Recruit human companions across a spread of classes — Warrior, Ranger, Assassin, Monk, and weavers of every hue — and win over the Kleffons, clever tailed creatures that roll their own size, wits, and opinion of humankind at the start of every game. Some adore you on sight; some almost hate you. Spare a healer at the edge of death and it may follow you home. Every party you build is one this world has never seen before.

🦅 Death Is Not the End — the Vesper Hawk

Bind a Vesper hawk, the ash-grey courier-bird that never sets foot on the battlefield — which is exactly why it survives when your whole party does not. When everyone falls, the hawk carries your ashes home to the temple at Cindralax for the Reckoning: a solemn, blood-red revival where you buy your lives back from your bank — yourself first, then each companion one at a time, knowing any soul you can't afford right now is lost forever. Meanwhile your gear drops as a death cache on the very ground you died on — and what killed you decides what you lose. Mindless beasts leave it all; cunning, gear-hungry raiders loot up to half and walk off wearing your finest steel. A red skull marks each death site on your map, and every wipe becomes a quest: retrace your steps, reclaim your cache, and hunt down the thieves to win your treasures back.

🏦 One World, One Vault

Every town's bank opens the same shared stash — one gold pool, one item vault, reachable from anywhere you hold a link. And it's more than storage: your banked gold is the only gold that can raise your fallen company, while the coin in your pocket dies where you fall. Bank hard before a dangerous run — the vault is your lifeline.

🌍 A World on the Edge of War

Travel the overland King's Roads that ring the Dragonsea, between great kindred cities and a scatter of market towns, each its own small world. Eight peoples circle the sea — a hungry human kingdom reaching for magic that was never theirs, stone-holds nursing inherited grudges, sea-priests split over whether to wake their god or let it die gently, desert star-readers gone silent, and cults that would drown the world to hasten the end. Earn reputation or make enemies; delve ruins the Quickening has stirred, where the dead climb from sand and black water; and take your place in the crises that will decide the age.

♾ No Two Journeys Alike

Per-game randomization reshapes your companions, your cards, and the threats you face. Near-infinite loot means your perfect weapon is always one more kill away. The factions you help or hinder bend the world around you. And in the end, standing over the beating heart of a fallen god, you may be the one who decides what it does next.
