About This Game

Curtain Call in Flames is a 2D courtroom mystery visual novel set in a traditional Chinese marionette troupe.

The Yunhe Troupe is about to give its farewell performance. The night before, its master, Shen Heming, is murdered on his own stage. The weapon, the wound and an eyewitness all point the same way: at his final disciple.

You are Bian Bo, the defense attorney. Search the theater, talk to the people involved, examine the evidence, and find the contradictions that the prosecution's story cannot survive.

INVESTIGATE THE YUNHE TROUPE

Move between the stage, the front hall, the master's room and the mechanism workshop. Examine anything that looks out of place, talk to the troupe, and show them what you've found.

A detail that seems beside the point now may change how you see the whole case.

CROSS-EXAMINE THE WITNESSES

In court, go through each witness's testimony one statement at a time. Press on anything vague to draw out more. When a statement can't be true, present the evidence that proves it: the right item, on the right line.

Wrong calls cost you on the penalty gauge, but everything you need is already in the testimony and evidence in front of you.

MAKE THE EVIDENCE TALK

The Court Record keeps more than names. Each item notes its source, time, place, and who held it. As the investigation goes on, descriptions and forensic findings get updated.

Go back to evidence you already have. A detail that made no sense before may be the one that turns the case.
