Shield Knight is a pixel-art 2D side-scrolling action game. You play as a knight sent to clear threats on the border, only to discover that the monster attacks may be connected to a deeper conspiracy involving the knight order itself.

Combat is built around blocking and countering. Close-range slashes, charges, and lunges require well-timed melee blocks, while arrows, shockwaves, and flying projectiles call for ranged blocking. Different enemies and bosses challenge your timing, positioning, and ability to read attack types.

As you progress, you can use basic attacks, perfect-block counters, guard dashes, branch skills, and Holy Sacrifice to overcome battles. Character growth and rune systems will further expand your combat options as the adventure continues.

Display Specification

The current version uses a fixed 1280×720 display specification. Characters, enemies, environments, and combat effects are created and tuned for this pixel scale to provide a consistent presentation of pixel detail, character silhouettes, and combat information.

Some pre-generated 2D artwork used in the game and store materials was created or assisted with generative AI tools during development, then manually reviewed, edited, resized, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use live-generated AI during gameplay, and no player input is sent to any generative AI service.
