What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've been working on this behind closed doors for long enough. The game has grown into a lot of interwoven systems, and I want the community's input on what matters most to them, so I can put my time where it actually counts. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About a year. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access launches with one Realm. Three more are planned for the full release, each bringing its own new mechanics, weapons, characters, and stories to uncover.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“One playable Realm, two characters, and a handful of Regalia — enough for varied builds, but this is the early, exploratory slice of what's coming. Expect content drops — new Regalia, characters, and more — between major realm releases.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are NO plans to increase the price for Void Regalia after the Early Access release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be running this through Steam's discussion forums — that's where I'll be reading feedback and posting updates, roughly every two weeks depending on what's in progress. I'm most interested in hearing how the game's balance feels in your hands and which systems you find yourself coming back to (or avoiding).

This is a solo project, and I'm grateful for your feedback — I'll be paying attention.”

About This Game

Void Regalia is an 8-Bit-inspired twin-stick horde survivor where every run is remembered differently.

Wander into the Mist, find a realm buried by forgetting. Oxygen is your clock and your lifeline — once it runs out, all it takes is one hit, to wake you out of Nostalgia.

The Regalia are Weapons and Partners. Memories of those who were. Fight alongside them, level up, and strengthen the Bonds to become stronger together.

Memories twist and turn, shifting each run — turning every failure into inheritance for the runs that follow. TLDR:  YOUR DECISIONS MATTER!

Piece the map back together, memory by memory, and chase Masteries that unlock new wielders, new Regalia, new ways to Play and new truths about the world you're trying to recall.

A bullet-heaven roguelite about time, memory, and what's worth remembering.

Gameplay Details

  • Not a number soup. Upgrades do more than shift numbers around, craft your strategies around changing weapons!

  • CONTROLLED chaos. Precise positioning and dodging will win you more games than luck. (Luck helps too.)

  • With the Hybrid Upgrade System there's no stopping in the middle of the action. Get upgrades dynamically in the middle of combat, and choose what to keep or new options at the end of each encounter.

Realm Map

  • Go beyond the encounters by forging your path on a changing map. Level grind in the early areas of the map or venture deeper for higher risk and rewards.

Encounters

  • Engage in encounters and mow down enemies as you explore areas with varying objectives and secrets.

Complete Masteries, Get Rewarded

  • Masteries are challenges to strive for and each one unlocks something new. It could be upgrades, new Regalia for the pool, game mechanics, characters and more.

  • Progression doesn't just open up the world, but it opens up new ways to play.
