What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to get GrooveDeck out soon so we can evolve the game with community feedback and open up testing to the public.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect GrooveDeck to remain in Early Access for at least a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“GrooveDeck is already fully playable today, with all of its core systems in place: the step sequencer (with per-step velocity, probability, and trig conditions), the piano roll, drum machine/synth/sampler instruments, modulation and effects, live Perform mode, and scene-based arrangement. Between now and 1.0, we plan to focus on squashing bugs, improving stability and performance, and refining the controller workflow. We also plan to closely follow community feedback and use it to guide which instruments, effects, and quality-of-life improvements we prioritize. We don't currently plan any major features that are absent from the Early Access build; 1.0 will represent this same experience refined and polished based on what we learn from players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All of the features listed in the About This Game section above are implemented and playable today: the step sequencer, piano roll, drum machine/synth/sampler instruments, modulation and effects, live Perform mode, and scene-based arrangement. That said, this is still an early build, so you may encounter bugs, missing polish, and rough edges in the UI, and some instruments and effects are still being balanced. We're actively squashing bugs and improving stability as we gather feedback from the community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep GrooveDeck free unless something changes substantively.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're opening up testing to the public and plan to evolve GrooveDeck based on direct community feedback.”
