About This Game

A Blade Drawn Against the Empire

SURA: Shattered Star is a fast-paced 2D action platformer combining Asterium-powered sword combat, fluid movement, and a space opera setting.

After the war, Sura lives as a mercenary. During a mission to infiltrate a pirate vessel, she discovers traces of forbidden human experiments connected to the Empire.

Pursue the Doctor behind the experiments as Sura travels through a pirate vessel, an underground laboratory, a former Imperial military base converted into a research facility, and the Doctor’s ship.

Cut through the enemies standing in your way and uncover the truth behind the experiments involving Asterium, as well as the past Sura has kept hidden.

Master the Power of Asterium

Sura wields a single sword and draws upon the power of Asterium to perform devastating quick-draw techniques.

Move rapidly between enemies, mark them with precise slashes, and sheathe your sword at the decisive moment to unleash a powerful finishing attack.

Seamlessly chain movement and attacks together, exploit enemy openings, and cut through multiple targets without losing the flow of battle.

Sharp reflexes, precise positioning, and careful timing are the keys to survival.

Fast-Paced 2D Action Platforming

Combat and movement are designed to flow together as one.

Dash through enemy attacks, leap across dangerous terrain, slide beneath obstacles, and carry your momentum into the next strike.

Avoid hazards without slowing down, move rapidly between targets, and carve a path through groups of enemies before they can surround you.

Powerful bosses await at the end of each chapter, including heavily armored combatants, massive mechanical weapons, and autonomous war machines with unique attack patterns.

Master Sura’s movement and sword techniques to defeat them.

A Space Opera of Revenge, Survival, and Guilt

Sura is not a chosen hero.

Once a swordswoman of the Goh Dynasty, she survived the war that brought her homeland under Imperial rule, but was officially recorded among the dead.

Now living as a mercenary, she pursues the Doctor in search of an answer to the survivor’s guilt that continues to haunt her.

It is not because the Doctor is directly connected to her survival.

Sura wants to believe that killing the Doctor is the reason she was allowed to survive.

To complete her revenge, Sura must overcome not only the enemies standing in her way, but also the guilt and wounds she has carried since the war.

Note

This game was developed over approximately two months as a final project at KRAFTON Jungle Game Lab.

It is a free proof of concept created to explore and validate the game’s core combat mechanics, movement systems, visual direction, and narrative potential within a limited development period.

Rather than representing a full-scale commercial production, this project is intended as a playable showcase of the concepts and gameplay direction that form the foundation of SURA: Shattered Star.
