What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“VOXSHIFT is an audio application that depends heavily on each user's environment, including microphones, headphones, speakers, virtual audio devices, streaming software, voice chat apps, and games.

The core features are already usable, but we are releasing VOXSHIFT in Early Access so we can improve stability and usability across a wider range of real user environments.

During Early Access, we plan to focus on audio stability, latency, translation quality, output device selection, optional routing to external applications, and making the setup process easier to understand.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We currently expect VOXSHIFT to remain in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months.

However, audio device compatibility and external app routing can vary greatly depending on each user's environment, so the schedule may change depending on user feedback and the progress of stability improvements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to improve the stability and usability of the current core features, expand compatibility across more user environments, reduce audio latency, improve translation quality, refine the device setup UI, and make optional routing to external applications easier to understand.

We also plan to use user feedback from real use cases such as streaming, voice chat, and gaming to decide which improvements should be prioritized.

Future features may change depending on development progress and feedback, but our goal for the full version is to provide a more stable and easier-to-use version of VOXSHIFT.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes core features such as microphone input selection, headphone/speaker output selection, audio processing, translation, and voice/audio output.

In normal use, users can process microphone audio through VOXSHIFT and output it to their headphones or speakers. These core features can be used without installing an additional virtual audio driver.

Routing processed audio into external applications such as Discord, games, or OBS as a microphone input is treated as an optional advanced routing feature that requires a virtual audio device such as VB-CABLE.

Because this is an Early Access version, some issues may still remain depending on the user's environment, including audio device detection, latency, external app compatibility, and translation quality.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the current price during Early Access.

However, the price may increase at the full release or when major new features, compatibility improvements, or stability improvements are added. If the price changes, we plan to announce it in advance through the store page or Steam announcements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“User feedback is important to the development of VOXSHIFT.

We plan to collect feedback through the Steam Community, reviews, and support channels. We are especially interested in bug reports, information about users' audio device environments, latency issues, translation quality, confusing setup steps, external app routing problems, and feature requests.

We will use this feedback to prioritize stability improvements, compatibility fixes, usability improvements, and future feature development.”

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

VOXSHIFT uses AI-powered speech processing, translation, and text-to-speech / voice output features.

The app processes user-provided microphone input and can generate translated speech or processed audio output for the user to listen to or route to other applications. AI is used as part of the app's core audio workflow, not to create characters, story content, levels, or gameplay assets.

Some store and marketing materials may also describe or demonstrate these AI-powered audio features.
