What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Water Polo Manager 2026 already offers a playable, long-form management experience, and Early Access gives us the right setting to refine it with the people who play management games in very different ways. We want feedback from real long-term careers to help us improve simulation balance, tactical clarity, onboarding, interface readability and long-term pacing before version 1.0.

Early Access is not being used to sell a future concept. Players are buying the substantial game available today, while helping us decide where further refinement will have the greatest impact.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimate is approximately three to six months. This is a planning window, not a fixed promise: we will move to version 1.0 when stability, balance, onboarding and the overall career experience meet our quality target. We will communicate any meaningful change to that estimate through Steam announcements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our priority for version 1.0 is to make the existing management experience more consistent, readable and robust. Planned work includes further simulation and economy balancing, clearer onboarding and feedback, interface and accessibility improvements, performance work, localization review, additional tuning of match and career systems, and fixes guided by real long-term careers.

The exact order and scope may change in response to testing and community feedback. We prefer to improve the systems players are actually using rather than promise unverified features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Build 1.81 is a playable Windows, offline, single-player management game with unrestricted career length. Players can manage full seasons and continue across multiple seasons, choose from the available club and world setups, build and develop squads, scout and recruit players, handle transfers and contracts, plan training, prepare tactics, manage finances and expectations, play through domestic and wider competitions, follow national teams, and make live match-day decisions.

The central career loop is present and playable. As an Early Access build, it may still receive significant balance, interface, localization, performance and data adjustments. Bugs and edge cases are possible, particularly in very long careers. We aim to preserve saves whenever practical, but players should keep backups of careers that matter to them and read update notes before installing major updates.

The game is single-player and does not require an in-game account or a continuous internet connection after a legitimate Steam installation and license check. Steam Offline Mode remains supported for normal single-player play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to change the base price when the game leaves Early Access. If that plan changes, we will communicate it clearly and well in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will use Steam Discussions and update announcements to collect feedback, explain meaningful changes and publish release notes. Reports about simulation balance, confusing information, performance, accessibility and long-career issues are especially useful. Reproduction steps, screenshots and voluntarily shared save files can help us investigate difficult problems.

We will read suggestions alongside community feedback, voluntarily shared save files and career information, and the design goals of the game. Not every request will become a feature, but recurring problems and clearly explained use cases will directly inform priorities during Early Access.”

You are not just selecting lineups. You are managing the full sporting project: the squad, the budget, the staff priorities, the youth pipeline, the tactical setup, your personal career path, and the pressure that comes with every result.
