What if the 1981 strike had changed everything? The Continental Association Baseball set imagines exactly that: a rival league, born from the strike, playing its 1983 season in 16 cities the big leagues left behind or never reached. Brooklyn is back in baseball. Vancouver, Mexico City, Las Vegas, and New Orleans finally get their teams. And every player on every roster is fictional — which means, for the first time, you genuinely don't know how the season ends.

Card Generation

Every CAB player is fictional, but the cards are built the same way as every Game Pulse season set — grounded in the real run environment of late-'70s and early-'80s baseball, so the league feels authentic in any era. Batters, pitchers, and parks all interact exactly as they do in the historical sets.

Meet the League

Every league needs its legends, and the CAB delivers. Newark's Melvin Campbell put up a season for the ages — a .379 average with 31 home runs — while San Antonio's Archie Cannon answered with .347 and 34 of his own. Indianapolis paired slugger Brian Geisel's 37 homers with Christopher Smith's 80 stolen bases. On the mound, Bill Puente won 25 games for Newark, San Jose's Roy Gates went 24-3 with a 2.19 ERA, and Las Vegas closer Jeff Derringer slammed the door 40 times with a 1.22 ERA. Are they the real deal, or products of a young league? That's for your dice to decide.

A Pennant Race With No Script

This is the set for players who want pure discovery. There's no history book telling you the Newark club holds off San Jose in September — no replay to measure against. Draft the league from scratch, run the season as built, or mix CAB clubs into your historical projects and find out whether an upstart league's best could hang with the majors.
