Taskbar Legends is an online idle auto-battler for Windows that lives right on your taskbar. Build your party, manage gear, craft, summon new heroes and choose where to explore. Then get back to work while your heroes keep fighting, earning loot and progressing in the background. Open the hub whenever you want to check your progress or prepare for the next expedition.

Choose six heroes and position them across three rows: Front, Mid and Back. Where you place each hero matters. Tanks are built to hold the front line, melee fighters thrive in the middle, while healers, ranged heroes and support characters work best from behind.

• Front: Tanks absorb damage and hold the line.

• Mid: Melee heroes deal damage from the heart of the fight.

• Back: Healers, ranged heroes and support keep the party alive from a safer position.

Every hero has a unique kit, and each brings different damage schools to the fight. Bosses can resist or be vulnerable to certain schools, so the team that clears one map may not be the right team for the next. Experiment with your lineup and formation to find the best combination for every encounter.

Every hero you summon has its own level and tier. Take them into battle to gain permanent levels, equip them with loot, or collect three matching heroes of the same tier and bring them to the Ascension Forge.

• Level: Heroes gain permanent power as they fight.

• Gear: Strengthen your party with loot, crafting and gems.

• Ascend: Fuse three matching heroes into one hero of the next tier, up to Tier 5.

The Forge carries over the average level of the three heroes you combine. Three Level 50 heroes become a single higher-tier Level 50 hero, with a new appearance on the battlefield and additional stars on your roster.

Tradable heroes and eligible gear are stored as Steam Inventory items. When you add a hero to your party or equip an item, it becomes locked to your account until you remove it. Your active heroes and gear can never be traded while they're in use.

• Protected loadouts: Heroes in your party and equipped gear cannot be traded.

• Clear upgrades: Upgrading an item exchanges it for a new item rather than silently changing the original.

• A living economy: Heroes and eligible gear can be traded, while packs, materials, food and energy items remain outside the market.

Send your party into an expedition for a single run or keep pushing through an endless session. Every completed run permanently secures its gold, XP and loot, so the further you go, the more you can bring home.

• Complete a run: Your rewards are secured immediately and the next lap begins with stronger enemies.

• Retreat: Keep everything you've already secured, but lose the rewards from your current run.

• Lose: Previously secured rewards, your heroes and their equipped gear are always safe.

Return to camp to recover, restore energy and prepare food for your next expedition. Food buffs run in real time, so prepare your supplies before you set out.

Taskbar Legends is online-only, with your account, inventory, rewards and progression securely managed on the server. Combat is also server-authoritative, keeping rewards and progression fair and preventing local files from being used to fake clears or generate loot.

• Live hub: See who's online and chat with other players.

• Daily and weekly activities: Earn rewards through daily login rewards, daily quests and weekly quests.

• Adventures and activities: Explore, return to camp, craft, cook and fish.

• Codex: Track heroes, enemies, items, builds and your overall progression.

Designed to Stay Out of Your Way

The taskbar overlay is click-through and won't steal focus from whatever you're doing. Hide it when you want a clean desktop, then bring it back whenever you're ready to check your heroes or plan your next expedition.

An internet connection and Steam sign-in are required.
