Why Early Access?

“While PlagueStead contains a fully functional gameplay loop, other necessary features have not been fully developed such as menus, UI, save-load, music, audio, etc. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are not sure. Development is currently at a halt but if we see enough community interest, we may continue developing to work towards a final build. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to have all current features to be finalized and completed, such as the save-load functionality, a completed soundtrack and audio design, UI, etc.
As well as contain any general community feedback, and balancing if needed.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PlagueStead currently offers a full, quick game with a win and lose condition.
There are 4 base enemies, 4 bosses, 12 types of plants, 3 types of chickens, 6 weapons, 21 total items, and endless strategies.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not planning on changing the price after we leave early access, unless we add a significant amount of content, which is not currently planned. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We take community feedback seriously, and will make any changes that the community collectively recommends. We want to make the best experience for players and we believe we need their feedback to do so. ”

About This Game

PlagueStead is a half farming sim, half action survival game. You are a farmer who watches the apocalypse arise from the comfort of your farm. Seeds are now becoming radioactive, growing into guns, ammunition, and even chickens. A rescue helicopter will arrive in 5 days, survive until then.  

FARMING

Plant any seeds on your farm. They must be watered during the day to keep growing, otherwise they'll dry out. But watch out, enlarged bugs will try to eat your plants. Fully grown crops will sparkle, and harvesting them will drop produce which you can use for your own need, or sell them to buy more seeds. 

COMBAT

Your scythe is your most crucial tool. Use it to harvest plants, or to attack bugs and zombies at close range. Obtain up to 3 guns, a Pistol, AR, and Shotgun for far range combat, but be sure to manage your ammo. Take too much damage from the enemies, and you lose. 

DAY CYCLES

Days are 3 minutes long. Nights will have 1 minute of zombies until a boss appears... defeat the boss to progress to the next day. Watch out, enemies walking through your plants will damage them. Plant do not grow at night but they will heal when watered. 

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

You only have 10 slots to hold your resources. Keep what you need, drop what you don't want. Stay organized, or don't...
