About This Game

Read the market. Or write it.

You're in charge of a company. You have a target, a board of shareholders with very little patience, and fierce competition ahead of you. Every call is yours, and every call moves the market.

Market Fit is a turn-based economic strategy game about control. Control what trends: each company runs an advertising campaign on the good of its choice, and the strongest campaign puts its good in line to trend. Control who sells first: invest in logistics and the turn order bends your way. Control your rivals: buy their shares and you can see their plans, force their dividends and block their moves. Whoever reads the trend wins; whoever writes it never has to read it.

Every turn, a decision

Advertising. Decide how much money you put into the marketing campaign for the good of your choice. The biggest campaign puts that good in line to trend. When its turn comes, its price takes off.

Production. Buy, rent and upgrade factories. Production capacity raises your supply. And that's a good thing — as long as there's real demand for it.

Sales. Spend on logistics to sell at the highest price. Every unit sold drives demand down. Sit it out, and you can be the architect of your own ruin.

Close. At the end of the round, every company reports its performance, dividends are paid, you collect your salary and the stock market opens. This is where you make the management calls that shape not just your standing with the board, but your own bottom line.

The stock market is a weapon

Every share you buy of a rival is a step toward controlling it. The more you hold, the more you can do:

Reveal their plans to gather information, demand dividends from their company or block their actions to plunder their stocks.

But your rivals are playing the same game. Your shareholder bar shows who is buying you and what they can do to you. Hold enough of your own shares to defend yourself, or let someone else pull your strings.

Your salary, your responsibility

Your personal worth and the company's are two different numbers, and the board only watches one. You have to propose to the shareholders how the company's income is split three ways: reinvestment, dividends and your salary. You decide how much to take out before board confidence drops far enough to fire you. Draining the company works right up until it doesn't.

Deals you won't be telling the board about

Between turns, corrupt figures may come looking for you... with interests that "may" run against your company's. In exchange, you'll enjoy certain "personal improvemenets". Taking those deals, and honoring them, is your call.
