A total-immersion kinetic novel: boot up a PC running Prisma OS and descend into the psyche of a broken protagonist as 2001 Argentina collapses in the background. Late-night chats, obsession, music, and raw Y2K bleakness — all the way to a point of no return.

About This Game

Buenos Aires, 1999. Gabriel has been glued to his monitor for years, but everything gets worse when she —the only person who mattered to him off-screen— gives him a chance and, 48 hours later, dumps him with cheap excuses. From then on, the PC becomes his only reality.

Digital Romance Memoir is played entirely from the desktop of a computer running Prisma OS. There are no puzzles and no action: just screens that flicker on in the small hours, chat windows blinking, and the certainty that outside, the country is falling apart — even if it barely seems to touch him.

For four years (1999–2003) you live inside his machine: hunting for connection in the dark, sinking into obsession and toxic relationships, wandering an internet that no longer exists, rebuilt window by window.

WHAT'S INSIDE — A whole turn-of-the-millennium PC, simulated:

  • Two period chat clients (AWC and PRM), full of late-night conversations with strangers

  • The Pincer media player, with a complete original soundtrack

  • The Voyager browser and El Observador: a living news portal that follows Argentina's real 2001 collapse

  • Emails, photo albums, downloads, and the little rituals of a life lived online

  • Mini-apps and games to lose yourself in

FEATURES

  • Hours of pure, atmospheric reading

  • An entire fictional operating system to explore at your own pace: every window is interactive

  • An original soundtrack by a cast of bands from the game's own world

  • Faithful Y2K aesthetic: 4:3 format, period-accurate interfaces, and the nostalgia of when ADSL was brand new

This is a hyper-local, niche game: long, pure reading, and uncompromising. It sells rawness and obsession, not romance. It's a memoir to relive, not a game to win: you inhabit Gabriel's story exactly as it was. You don't choose his fate… or do you? And some late nights, if you look closely, you'll feel the screen looking back at you.

The game is in Spanish (Argentina).

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Digital Romance Memoir is a narrative work for adult audiences, set in Argentina between 1999 and 2003. It contains: strong, frequent language; crude sexual references and humor in the chats; depiction of alcohol and tobacco use and of medication misuse (an anti-anxiety drug mixed with alcohol); and discriminatory language typical of the era and of deliberately toxic characters, portraying their attitudes without endorsing them. It includes an optional psychological-horror section with a brief scene of graphic violence, and deals with sensitive themes such as obsession, self-destruction, suicide, violence, sexual violence (depicted non-explicitly) and a hate crime, as well as references to abortion. Player discretion is advised.
