About This Game

HELAX is a top-down shooter fused with deck-building — a Roguelite to its core.

Mindburn Syndrome is sweeping the world, and the only way to purge the pathogens is to go inside the Mind Sandbox. As a doctor, you take control of an Avatar and dive into a patient's mind — hunting the living pathogens, tracing the source of the outbreak, breaking the disease, and healing the patient.

Charged Shots, Twin Guns — Can You Keep Up?

Match-shooting combat you won't find anywhere else. Alternate between left- and right-click attacks, and feel the thrill of shooting, clearing tiles, and triggering skills.

Fire different energy rounds to charge the Compiler marked on a monster, then trigger the Compiler effect floating above its head — power yourself up, or deal it heavy damage. Press R to reroll the Compilers on the field, and charge a stronger one to take down Mimetic Lesions more efficiently.

Build Your Deck, Your Way

Compilers are targeted-therapy chips developed against Mindburn Syndrome. Use Compiler Decks of different energies to wipe out Mimetic Lesions.

Enter a run, you carry 8 Compilers. In battle, 3 nearby enemies are automatically marked with a Compiler drawn at random from your deck — shoot them to charge it and trigger the effect.

Your Compiler Deck is a key tool for growing stronger as you push through the stages. Between stages, add, upgrade, or remove Compilers and build a deck to match your power setup.

A Weapon for Every Playstyle

The Gene Modifier is a containment device developed against Mindburn Syndrome. Its user wears a wristband in the real world, and their digital body gains combat power inside the Mind Sandbox.

Runs offer a range of devices for different situations — rapid-fire, charge, melee, and more. Level up your device as you play, and build a Compiler deck that fits it.

Powerful Relics, Yours to Discover

A Hyperintelligence is a projected mimetic of the collective unconscious — a global force that intervenes in the shared mind of healer and patient alike, and supports them both.

After you clear a boss stage, a space holding Hyperintelligences (Relics) opens up. Interact with the Energy Pylon inside for a chance to claim one.

Equipping a Hyperintelligence sharply raises an Avatar's combat power. Universal ones work with different Compiler Decks, while Elemental ones boost the strength of Compilers that share their energy.

As you push deeper into the Mind Sandbox, you spend Action Points on combat and trading, and freely shape how your power grows. Fast, aggressive attacks or precise strategy — free allocation of growth resources opens up more possibilities in battle.

Eldritch Bosses

A Mindburn patient's subconscious shows a chaotic world eaten away by flesh. Hunched monsters covered in tumors, towering spheres of flesh tangled with eyes and tentacles — the grotesque, rotting scenery deals a shock to every Avatar's senses.
