Plus never puts privacy behind a paywall. The dedicated relay carries your initial handshake and your encrypted messages — it can't read a word of what you send. Your voice, your files and your screen go straight to your friends, peer-to-peer; only when a strict network blocks that direct route does a fallback relay forward the encrypted packets, and it can't read those either. Your voice and your files still travel straight between you and your friends, always.
