Humans fled to Solace seeking refuge from the eternal Celestial War. The name was a promise which was never kept. The war followed, and what they brought with them consumed everything. What remains is broken land, corrupted biomes, and desperate powers that call themselves salvation.

You fight through what remains. Combat runs automatically. And when you die, that is not the end. That is the door.

A Dark Fantasy RPG That Runs Itself

Tormented Souls Idle is a dark fantasy idle RPG with a deep story, lore, and worldbuilding, all presented with rich pixel art. This is not a spreadsheet simulator idle game. Every combat encounter resolves without input, with optional active play layers. Your hero levels, gears, and fights while you plan, build, and choose. The decisions are real, the builds are deep, and the prestige loops compound across hundreds of hours.

Real Decisions

In Tormented Souls Idle, your decisions matter. You can't take every skill, and you can't take every bonus. There are no respecs, and there is no undo button. You live with the consequences of your decisions and must forge your own path.

Five Classes. Each class fights differently:

Warrior: Rage builds from hits taken and detonates on demand. The front line that hits back harder the longer it absorbs punishment.

Mage: Spell Charges gate every cast. Invest in the Foresight branch for bonus crit against Burning and Chilled targets. A glass cannon with ramping damage.

Rogue: Shadow Steps stack on evasion procs and explode on Shadowstrike. Fast, fragile, and devastating when the build clicks.

Paladin: The tank whose defense becomes offense. Retribution reflects armour as damage on every enemy hit. Radiance converts self-healing into Holy strikes. Build the sustain and the damage comes with it.

Hunter: Fights alongside a beast companion. The companion is a full second NPC with its own skills and abilities, and truly becomes your only partner in this world.

Gold is shared across all five. Grinding one class funds upgrades for every other.

The Campfire Grows

Discover and rescue friendly NPCs in the world to recruit back to your campfire, extending your roster and repertoire. To name a few:

The Blacksmith for permanent per-class stat upgrades.

The Cartographer for route selection before each run.

The Merchant and Fence for gear.

The Ritualist for run modifiers.

Four Prestige Layers

Each operates independently. Each changes what is possible on the next cycle. There's always something to grind, there's always another challenge, and always a way to overcome it. Exploration and discovery is a core pillar, and you never know where you might find power waiting to be taken.

Choose Your Patron

Align with the Angel (Holy power, celestial armour, divine retribution) or the Demon (Infernal power, soul corruption, chaotic destruction). The choice is permanent for this class and run. Your hero's appearance evolves across four stages as you invest Prestige Points: a faint aura becomes a full transformation. You'll need your patron's help for what lies ahead.

Build Depth

Each class has a full skill tree of over 130 nodes, mixing passive stat nodes, scaling nodes, conversion nodes, and active skills. A hundred points cannot fill the tree. Branches compete. Every build is a tradeoff, and bad builds are possible, which is what makes a good build matter. This is no "illusion of choice" game.

Gear drops in four rarities up to Legendary. Artifacts introduce mechanics that fundamentally alter how a class scales: convert all damage to Shadow, turn your Life Regen into a weapon, store soul shards toward a catastrophic strike.
