What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to build the ultimate factory automation experience, and we believe the best way to do that is closely with our players. Factory games rely heavily on complex systems, balancing, and logistics. Early Access allows us to gather crucial feedback on gameplay pacing, UI/UX, and performance, ensuring the final release is as polished and engaging as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate the game will remain in Early Access for approximately one year. However, this timeline may change depending on player feedback and the scope of new features we decide to add during development to meet our community's standards.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand significantly on the core automation loop. We plan to introduce more advanced production tiers, additional resource types, more complex logistics systems, and expanded research trees. We also aim to implement quality-of-life improvements, better optimization for large-scale factories, and localized support for multiple languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version features a fully playable core gameplay loop. Players can mine resources, set up automated production lines, manage basic logistics, and unlock several tech tiers. While the game is stable and offers hours of automation fun, some assets, UI elements, and late-game mechanics are still a work in progress.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship major content updates and introduce new features throughout the Early Access period. This rewards early supporters who buy the game now while reflecting the increased value of the final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We highly value our community's input. We will actively monitor our Steam Community Hub and official Discord server to gather bug reports, balance suggestions, and feature requests. We plan to share regular devlogs and patch notes so our players can see exactly how their feedback is shaping the future of the factory.”

About This Game

FACTORY I is a minimalist simulation game that strips away visual clutter and unnecessary decoration, focusing purely on the core joy of factory building and optimization.

Instead of flashy graphics, you’ll experience a clean, intuitive interface that’s easy on the eyes—letting you fully concentrate on what matters: gathering resources, designing perfect production lines, and pushing efficiency to its absolute limits.

Start simple, then scale up.

Mine resources, process them through primary, secondary, and even tertiary production stages, and challenge yourself to build the most efficient system possible using straightforward yet powerful facilities.

Unlike other factory games, you won’t get lost in complex visuals or overwhelming UI.

All you need is:

  • Press ‘O’ to change output direction

  • Press ‘U’ to upgrade

  • Press ‘H’ to check recipes

  • Press ‘E’ to switch production targets

  • Press 'WASD' to move location

  • Press 'SPACE' to install

That’s it.

No distractions. Just pure optimization.

Now Feeling frustrated by bottlenecks?

Good.

Solve them.

Refine your production lines, eliminate inefficiencies, and maximize value like never before.

Build smarter. Optimize harder. Create the ultimate factory.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to finally bring this factory game to Steam.

To be completely transparent, a significant part of this game was crafted through what the cool kids call "Vibe Coding"—leveraging cutting-edge AI to help bring my logic, systems, and visions to life. While the AI helped lay down the bricks, the core factory mechanics, balancing, and gameplay design are all fueled by my own passion for automation.

Think of it as a factory game built by a developer who loves automation so much, they even automated parts of the development process! I hope you enjoy optimizing your factories as much as I enjoyed optimizing this code.
