“As a solo indie developer, testing this overlay app across countless PC configurations, multi-monitor setups, and various streaming software is impossible without a broader player base. Early Access allows me to gather real-world usage data, resolve edge-case compatibility issues, and shape future features based on what users actually need.”

Steam Workshop uploading and downloading are also fully implemented.”

Customize Your Desktop Space

Neural Soul is a transparent, always-on-top desktop customization and utility app. Place avatars, stickers, and overlays wherever you like to make your screen uniquely yours.

Personalize Your Screen

  • Design custom avatars using your own images and names

  • Create and place stickers — static images or animated GIFs — anywhere on your desktop

  • Organize stickers into playlists with automatic slideshow rotation

  • Built-in SMTC music panel: displays your currently playing track with system-wide media playback controls

Background Removal Tool

  • Lightweight built-in tool to remove backgrounds from images and GIFs

  • Color-based removal with protect zones and manual eraser

  • Export individual frames from a GIF for use as stickers or avatars

Streamer Sticker (PNGtuber Mode)

  • Upload an idle and talking image — your avatar switches automatically based on your microphone

  • Dims when silent, animates when you speak — a simple PNGtuber overlay for your stream

  • Adjustable silence and talk thresholds to match your setup

LAN Party Mode

  • Host or join a local network room to appear on each other's screens for real-time, VTuber-style collaborations

  • Room password support for private sessions

Steam Workshop

  • Browse, download, and share community-made avatars and stickers

  • Upload your own creations with one click

  • Filter by type: avatars, stickers, streamer stickers, or your own uploads

Lightweight & Private

  • ~100-300 MB actual RAM usage (~300+ MB on startup; tested to drop to ~90+ MB after 2 hours in standby)

They are not built-in features and are not included in the app. Neural Soul provides the transparent, always-on-top elements (like the avatar and media player) that overlay on top of your actual desktop.
