FragMend turns Steam Game Recording captures into ordinary MP4 files, one clean video per play session, per game. It finds the fragments Steam scatters across folders, groups them back into real sessions, and remuxes each into a single MP4. Fast, lossless, fully local.

About This Software

Steam's Game Recording feature saves your gameplay as fragmented MPEG-DASH streams - dozens of tiny .m4s chunks split across folders, with no easy way to get a normal video out. FragMend fixes that.

Point it at your recordings and it automatically:

  • Auto-detects your Steam install, account, and the real recording folder (even on another drive).

  • Rebuilds real sessions

  • Groups the scattered fragments back into one video per play session, per game, using Steam's own timeline data.

  • Exports clean MP4s

  • Lossless by default (fast stream-copy), with an optional H.264 re-encode for maximum compatibility.

  • Names them sensibly

  • Output is organized by game and date, ready to edit, upload, or archive.

Everything runs locally.

Your recordings never leave your PC — no uploads, no accounts, no cloud. ffmpeg is bundled, so there's nothing else to install.

Just launch FragMend, hit Scan, pick the sessions you want, and Convert.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

FragMend is a local video-conversion utility. The application itself contains no AI-generated content and uses no generative AI at runtime, your recordings are processed entirely on your own PC by ffmpeg, with no AI involved and nothing uploaded.

Some of the text on this store page and related marketing copy was drafted with the help of a generative AI writing assistant, then reviewed and edited by the developer for accuracy. The app's logo and capsule/library artwork are generated programmatically by the developer's own code (procedural rendering), not by generative AI.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)
    • Processor: Any 64-bit x64 processor (dual-core or better recommended)
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Integrated graphics (no dedicated GPU required)
    • Storage: 300 MB available space
    • Additional Notes: Requires Steam Game Recording captures to convert; the app reads them and never deletes your originals. ffmpeg is bundled — nothing else to install. Uses the Microsoft WebView2 runtime, which ships with Windows 11 and recent Windows 10 (the app falls back to your default browser if it's absent). Re-encoding sessions benefits from a faster multi-core CPU, but lossless remux is light on all the above.
