What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DiceBeasts is a pet-battler with distinctive mechanics and ideas, but finishing it for full release still takes real work: content, balance, polish, and system iteration. That needs time and resources. Early Access helps with both — players can experience the core loop now and give honest feedback, while we use that real play data (not just internal tests) to guide the game to 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to stay in Early Access for approximately 3–5 months (targeting spring 2027). This may change if community feedback shows we need more time for balance and content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access includes the core loop: pet squads, runs, and elemental dice combat. For 1.0 we plan to expand content and deepen systems, including:

more locations, enemies, and pets;
richer progression and meta systems;
a simple story framework that ties the camp and runs together;
additional camp modes and activities;
balance, UX, and stability improvements.
Plans may change based on player feedback — that’s the point of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At Early Access launch you can expect:

8 pets, each with 2 upgrade branches (more pets and progression options will be added during Early Access);
the Forest location with monsters and boss(es) (more locations, monsters, and bosses will be added during Early Access);
a shared meta progression tree;
a tutorial;
the core loop: build a squad → run → elemental dice combat → camp progression.
The game is still in active development: bugs, balance changes, and occasional save-breaking updates are possible. We’ll call those out in patch notes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. After leaving Early Access we plan to raise the base price by about 20–25%. Players who buy during Early Access will receive all updates through and after the full release at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll communicate through the Steam Community Hub, Discord, and social media, and possibly YouTube (updates, feedback roundups, patch videos). We’ll post regular news and patch notes, collect bug reports and balance/content suggestions, and highlight changes driven by player feedback.”

About This Game

DiceBeast is a turn-based autobattler where fights are decided by both your team composition and how you use the dice you roll.

Each round gives you elemental dice: fire, earth, water, and air. Place them on creature abilities to trigger attacks, healing, shields, and control effects. After each win, draft new creatures and upgrades to build a team strong enough to survive the full run.

Features

  • Creature team building with distinct roles and abilities.

  • Elemental dice instead of standard commands.

  • Upgrades between fights for attacks, defense, healing, and individual abilities.

  • Short multi-fight roguelite runs.

  • Enemies with poison, bleed, shields, area attacks, and dice disruption.

  • Pixel-art 2D visuals.
