What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We plan for TexanLand to be more community shaped later on. Prior to Early Access we also conducted multiple playtests with our community. So by releasing the game in Early Access we will have much more freedom to work with our community before full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don’t have an exact time in which the game will be in Early Access. The full release date will likely be dictated by community feedback. According to our very rough estimate we expect around 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to quite drastically change the overall scale of the game while the general gameplay will remain similar. On the drawing board we have caves, the capability to travel to different maps, an interactive world state system, and an enriched story.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of TexanLand is mostly fully polished and most core gameplay mechanics are set, there currently exists one complete map and multiple player-driven story lines. Current features are also listed in the "About This" section of the description.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of TexanLand might increase when the game exits Early Access. Any price changes will not affect those who already bought the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback through many means such as social media will shape the development of TexanLand in Early Access, that being new features, refinement or reworks of current systems, and just changes overall. We plan to collect community feedback from Steam discussions and social media platforms like Instagram, Discord, etc. We will try our best to hear from our community during further development. Links to social media platforms will be available from the main menu in game.”

About This Game

Bash, Loot, Shoot, Progress: The state of Texan is engulfed by a viral zombifying outbreak, and the small fraction of surviving humans are embroiled in civil war. Will YOU be the tie breaker, the one who tips the scales and determines the outcome of this wasteland? If you are up for the monumental task, you will have to struggle, just like everyone else, to achieve an outcome fitting your vision.

  • Play it your way: Side with any faction, betray everyone, or go full lone wolf. Your call.

  • Four factions, four stories: Nomads, Survivors, Bandits, and the Military each have their own questline and reputation to win or burn.

  • Brutal, physical combat: Melee hits land exactly where your weapon is, not where a hidden dice roll says it should.

  • Guns that punch through walls: Bullets penetrate cover, so nowhere is ever fully safe.

  • Gore that doesn't hold back: Dismemberment and ragdoll chaos for every kill.

  • Body part health system: Get shot in the leg and you'll limp. Get hit in the arm and you'll swing slower. Take enough damage to the head or torso, and you're done.

  • Level up by playing: Smash things with heavy weapons to get stronger, sprint to get faster, take hits to get tougher. No skill trees, just play.

  • Zombies that actually listen: Gunfire, engines, and loud chaos will pull them straight to you.

  • Loot, crafting, and survival: Scavenge gear, craft what you need, and manage hunger (and, yes, the other end of that too).

  • Drive around the wasteland: Cars included.

  • A world that reacts to you: Dynamic music shifts with the danger around you.

  • A medium-sized open world: Built for exploring, not for padding playtime.

TexanLand is being built by a three person crew, in development since May 2025. No asset-flips, no ghost studio. Every model, animation, and line of code is made by us. A handful of textures and sounds come from royalty-free asset libraries, but everything else is original work.

  • Igor — Programming, game systems, assistant 3D model designer, animation, and project lead

  • Dimitri — 3D models, textures, and story design

  • Brian — Voice acting and music design

Small team, long term commitment.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

A small number of sound effects were created with the assistance of AI tools and modified to fit the game. All artwork, textures, animations, story, and other content was created manually.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains comedic violence including dismemberment and gore presented in a slapstick, over the top style. The player can consume illegal drugs which trigger visual screen effects. The game includes crude sexual humor, innuendo, and suggestive sound effects with no explicit nudity or sexual imagery. Criminal acts including violence and drug use are core gameplay mechanics. The tone throughout is satirical and comedic, similar to games like Postal 2.
