About This Software

VR Command Ring: The VR Control Center Built for Hardcore Flight Simulation

Platform Support: Steam VR / OpenXR

Compatible Games: The vast majority of VR games, with special recommendation for flight simulation and other titles that require extensive keybindings and pedal controls.

HOVERHUD theoretically works with any game or software running on SteamVR or OpenXR. As long as the target software runs on either framework, the Command Ring can be summoned normally. We have verified compatibility across multiple mainstream VR titles and have not observed any significant conflicts.

Why Do You Need This Tool?

Modern flight simulation / space simulation games feature incredibly complex cockpits and hundreds of keybinds. In non-VR mode, you can rely on keyboard shortcuts, joystick buttons, or even touchscreen panels. But once you enter VR mode, all visual feedback disappears — you're left with blind typing and muscle memory, or forced to constantly remove your headset to find a specific key on your keyboard.

HOVERHUD was born to solve this problem.

This is not a game, but a VR overlay tool — a fully customizable ring menu floating in your VR view, allowing you to access any keybind naturally, without taking off your headset and without blind typing.

· Achieve hand position tracking and visual keyboard positioning

· Overlay a virtual keyboard display in your VR view, allowing you to see the relative position of your hands and the keyboard

Head Tracking Mouse Emulation

- Control the mouse cursor by moving your head in software that doesn't support native VR menus

- Head movement → cursor movement; nod/pause → simulate click

- Provides basic VR control capabilities for older flight simulation software

 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this software affect game performance?

A: The Command Ring is a lightweight overlay rendering layer. The impact on frame rate is typically within 1-3%, and the vast majority of users will not notice any difference.

Q: I don't know how to write scripts. Are macros difficult to use?

A: We provide a visual macro recorder — you can directly record keyboard/joystick actions without manually editing any code. Advanced users can also hand-write macro scripts for greater flexibility.

Q: When will the beta features be officially released?

A: The beta features are currently in real-world testing. We plan to push the official versions via an update within the next 2-6 months.

Q: Do Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous support function search?

A: These two games currently do not offer official APIs for function search. However, you can still manually bind any key combination using macros to achieve one-click shortcut operations.
