What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Gridiron Manager combines long-term team management, recruiting, roster development, game planning, and multi-league simulation. Early Access will let us improve balance, usability, simulation accuracy, and long-term career progression using feedback from players who enjoy detailed football management games.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Gridiron Manager to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. This estimate may change depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the depth and polish of the existing management systems, including recruiting, scouting, player development, contracts, free agency, game planning, match presentation, league history, statistics, and long-term career progression. We also plan to improve interface usability, simulation balance, performance, and customization based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes playable college and professional career modes, team and roster management, depth charts, schedules, standings, recruiting and scouting, weekly practice and game planning, player development, contracts, free agency, drafts, postseason play, match simulation, and save support. Some systems, presentation elements, balance, and interface features remain under active development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Gridiron Manager at a lower price during Early Access. The price may gradually increase as significant features, content, and improvements are added, with another possible increase when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to collect feedback through the Steam Community forums, reviews, bug reports, and development updates. Community feedback will help prioritize usability improvements, simulation balancing, football-rule corrections, requested management features, and bug fixes. We also plan to share progress updates and discuss significant changes with players throughout development.”

About This Game

If you spend more time looking at depth charts than watching the quarterback, you belong in the front office.

Gridiron Manager is a hardcore management simulation built specifically for American Football. There are no reflex-based mini-games, no scripted animations, and no controller stick-skills to bail you out. You are the Head Coach and General Manager, and every game is won or lost entirely on your preparation, your roster, and your tactical execution.

A Game of Mathematics and Physics Forget arcade mechanics. This simulation runs entirely on a deterministic 20Hz physics engine. Every single run fit, blocking assignment, and pass trajectory is calculated in real time based on player ratings and your scheme. You watch the results unfold exactly as you drew them up.

The Coach's Chalkboard Command your team using a sleek, dark-mode interface designed to look like elite front-office analytics software. Swap personnel, view defensive shell previews, and call your plays on a massive, interactive 2D chalkboard.

Two Unique Ecosystems Choose your proving ground and build a dynasty in either the College or Professional ranks:

  • The College Game: Fight for your program's life in grueling, time-based recruiting battles, manage player eligibility, and try to survive the chaos of the transfer portal.

  • The Pro Game: Step into the war room to run a full-scale professional draft, balance a strict 53-man roster, and navigate complex salary caps and signing bonuses.

Tactics matter. Scheme matters. Matchups matter. If you want to outsmart your opponent instead of out-clicking them, your new front office is waiting.

How is this direction? It cuts right to the chase, highlights the pro/college split immediately, and sets the expectation that this is a pure tactical simulation.
