About This Game

Hire is a medieval fantasy management game about running a small mercenary guild in a world of dangerous contracts, flawed heroes, hard bargains, and bad luck.

People come to you with dangerous work. You negotiate the contract, hire the right fighters, equip them, choose the route, and send them into danger. If the deal was bad, the party was wrong, or the road turned ugly, the consequences come back to your office.

The biggest hook is negotiation. You talk in your own words instead of choosing preset dialogue. Ask for more money, hide the danger, promise rewards, push desperate people too hard, or walk away. The people across the table have pride, fear, debts, reputations, memories, and limits.

Every campaign creates a new world: a new city, map, economy, factions, families, heroes, quests, portraits, crests, locations, and problems. A new guild means a new cast, new risks, new opportunities, and a different history every time.

Each new game generates a fresh city, map, heroes, factions, families, cultures, quests, names, portraits, crests, locations, and stories. A new guild, a new cast, a new map, and new problems every campaign.

Negotiate in your own words

Talk naturally instead of choosing preset dialogue. Ask for more money, hide danger, promise safety, push your luck, or walk away. Every deal depends on who you are talking to and how far they are willing to bend.

Hire people, not units

The fighters you hire are not blank soldiers. They have personalities, skills, fears, injuries, gear, money problems, relationships, and memories. Some are brave. Some are greedy. Some are desperate. Some are famous enough to laugh at your offer.

Prepare the job, then live with the result

You choose who goes, what they carry, what route they take, and how cautious they should be. Then the party leaves without you. Travel is not a scripted cutscene. Routes, terrain, danger, events, injuries, and bad luck can all change what happens before the heroes even reach the fight.

Collect gear, artifacts, prestige, and scars

Win contracts, recover or commision rare equipment, chase legendary items, survive disasters, build your reputation, and grow your estate from a rented room into something worth defending.
