What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The Last Factory is a project I have wanted to make for a long time. I have always loved factory-building and automation games, and I wanted to create something with that same satisfying feeling of building, running, and growing a factory, but in a more casual form that can be played at your own pace, including while AFK or across different platforms.
Early Access is the right step because I want players to experience the core loop early and help shape the game as it grows. The current version is a minimal but playable foundation for the larger game I want to build, with more content, systems, production chains, enemies, polish, and atmosphere planned over time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect The Last Factory to be in Early Access for several months to around a year, depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to be richer in content and more polished overall. I plan to add more buildings, modules, production chains, items, enemies, upgrades, balancing, and quality-of-life improvements.
I also want to improve the presentation of the game significantly over time, including graphics, sound effects, music, and overall atmosphere, so that players can enjoy not only the factory systems but also the look and feel of the world they are building in.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the basic setup and core gameplay loop of The Last Factory. Players can start building and expanding a factory, interact with the main production systems, and experience the foundation of how the game is intended to play.
It is still early in development. Some areas, especially art, sound, music, content variety, balancing, and overall polish, are not final and will continue to improve throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase as the game grows and more content, features, and polish are added. I want Early Access players to have a fair price for supporting the game early, while also reflecting the larger scope of the full version later.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be very important during Early Access. I plan to listen to player suggestions, bug reports, balance feedback, and ideas about what feels fun or frustrating in the factory-building loop.
Because this is currently a one-person project, feedback from players will help me decide what to improve first, what systems need more depth, and what kind of content players want to see as The Last Factory develops.”

About This Game

The Last Factory is a sci-fi factory builder about keeping humanity's last operational facility alive on Veyra-9: a tidally locked industrial planet stripped bare by three centuries of automated mining. One side burns under a dying star. The other freezes in permanent night. In the narrow Termination Belt between them, Factory Unit 7 is still running.

That makes it valuable.

That makes it loud.

That makes it a target.

Build production chains from the ground up

Drag modules from the tray, place them on the grid, and route resources through extractors, conveyors, pipes, smelters, forges, fabricators, reactors, storage, and research systems. Direction matters. Power matters. One wrong-facing output can stall an entire line.

Keep the factory alive

A running factory wears itself down. Modules decay, power zones collapse, dust storms cut solar output, and shortages force bad tradeoffs. Build repair-kit supply lines, deploy Maintenance Bots, add buffer storage, and make the grid resilient before the next failure reaches your core production.

Defend the signal

The more you build, the louder your factory becomes. Rogue AUTON units detect output spikes and send waves toward your machinery. Build turrets, feed them ammo, place EMP emitters, and protect the weak points in your supply chain before the perimeter breaks.

Research what was lost

Signal Towers reveal new ground and generate Research Points for the Blueprint Tree. Unlock higher-tier modules, build coolant-backed reactors, compress resources into advanced components, and feed Sample Labs, Data Centres, and R&D Departments to discover permanent module variants.

Trace the dead factories

The story is told through intercepted transmissions, recovered logs, Syndicate messages, and ruins in the fog. Every expansion pushes Factory Unit 7 closer to the truth of what silenced the other factories, and to the Chrono Project: a desperate endgame megastructure built around one question.

We cannot fix this world. But can we go back?
