What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have chosen to release the game in Early Access because we believe community involvement is essential to creating the best possible experience. Our goal is to allow players to test the current gameplay systems, identify bugs, share suggestions, and help us understand which aspects of the game are working well and which areas need improvement.

During the Early Access period, we will gather feedback regarding gameplay balance, difficulty, content, performance, and the overall player experience. This feedback will help us refine existing features, add new content, improve game balance, and address issues reported by the community.

We are committed to actively developing the game throughout the Early Access period. Planned updates will include bug fixes, gameplay improvements, optimizations, and additional content based on both our development roadmap and player feedback, with the goal of delivering a more polished and complete final release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“From one to three months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to provide a larger and more complete Metroidvania experience than the Early Access version. During Early Access, we will focus on gathering player feedback, fixing bugs, improving performance, and refining the overall gameplay experience.

The final release is expected to include new areas to explore, additional enemies, new abilities and upgrades, more secrets to discover, expanded level design, and further gameplay content. We also plan to improve environmental details, balance the game's difficulty and progression, and implement quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback.

While the Early Access version already contains the core gameplay and exploration mechanics, the full version will offer a more polished, content-rich, and balanced experience with additional content and improvements throughout the game world.y.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable and already includes the core exploration, combat, and progression mechanics of the game. Players can explore the currently available areas, fight different enemies, discover secrets, and experience the core Metroidvania gameplay loop.

While the main gameplay systems are already implemented, we are still working on polishing the experience, fixing bugs, improving performance, and expanding the available content. We will also continue to refine game balance, difficulty progression, and other features based on community feedback.

Our goal during Early Access is to further improve the game, add new content, and ensure that the final release delivers the best possible experience for players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will likely increase after Early Access as more features are added and bugs are fixed. This rewards users who supported the game's improvement by purchasing it at a lower initial price”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be posting updates and improvements on social media and the forum, as well as giving credit to contributors using their nicknames (with their permission). There will also be contests and game merchandise giveaways.

I'll stay in touch via email and will likely open a forum to boost feedback and build a stronger connection with players”

About This Game

An "old-school" game with very geeky touches and countless 80s pop-culture references, featuring environments and places we all know...

It's not all about shooting and punching! Complete missions, search for hidden places, find those iconic objects that defined our lives, and compete against your friends in the global ranking to see who is the best.

Chumacho has arrived in a parallel universe packed with geeky references, where he must explore Madrid's most iconic landmarks, its streets, and the Madrid Metro in a whole new way—while interacting with the monuments!

Plus, you can compete with your friends to see who is the best thanks to global leaderboards (most points, most kills...) and compare who has collected all the special items.

Just like the games of yesteryear, you can even play offline if you don't have an internet connection. The moment you are back online and beat a level, your score in normal mode will update in the global ranking.

Game Modes & Mechanics

There are two difficulty levels:

  • Normal Mode: For the brave ones, where you need to watch your step because the bad guys hurt (and a lot!). This is where the competition takes place.

  • Tourist Mode: A much easier experience where the enemies don't deal as much damage.

As mentioned before, it's not all about shooting; you'll also have to hide by pressing yourself against the wall, where enemies won't be able to detect you (yes, they are a bit short-sighted). It is a 2D game where you can follow two playstyles: full action-and-shooting, or stealthily hugging the walls at certain moments to avoid detection.

Exploration & Secrets

In each level, you will face different monsters, each with unique traits—and not all of them are easy to kill! You will also need to investigate the levels to find keys or tickets to unlock your path and continue your adventure, or to discover secret areas. By the way, there are also hidden doors in the walls or locked doors that might open if you push them... and even breakable walls that open up new paths.

Furthermore, the path is riddled with unique items to find as well as side missions to complete—such as finding special objects scattered and hidden throughout Chumacho's world, hunting down a specific enemy, or eliminating a set number of foes.
