"The Prowlers Shift Archive Museum needs a watchman. Badly."

You got the job. Prowlers Shift is a 2.5D comedy sim set in a cutaway museum where every room, every visitor and every bad idea is on screen at once. You can see everything. You just can't be in two places at the same time.

A new ban every morning

Yesterday the director mistook cigarette smoke for a ghost, so today tobacco is banned. Tomorrow he argues with a leek in his dream and loses. Every day brings a new decree, and someone always breaks it. When a word turns red, a rule was broken: click it and send a notice. Get it right and you earn money and Standing. Get it wrong and you pay the fine.

Everyone has a bag

Visitors check their bags at the door, and you're the one minding them. The zipper gets louder the faster you pull it. As the old watchman puts it: what you take, you carry. What you shouldn't take, someone notices.

Low wages, plenty of side jobs

• Run errands for the staff, from three teas for the office to a missing lighthouse sock.
  
• Sell half-price tickets to visitors who "forgot" to buy one.
  
• Buy tea at Felix's stall. In this museum, tea is the real currency.
  
• Try the Most Courteous Scratch Cards.

Not every trade is licensed, and not every table takes just anyone. Do the right favor for the right person and you'll find out.

Clock out, count up

Every shift ends with a report: what you pocketed, what you owe, tomorrow's wages and bills, and a stamp that tells you exactly what management thinks of you.

People remember

Go through someone's bag and they'll bring it up. Give someone a gift and they'll remember that too. Standing and Disrepute rise and fall with everything you do. Disrepute builds quietly; rummage loudly and it builds loudly. Let your Standing hit the floor and you're dismissed.

After closing

When the doors lock, the museum turns into something else: doors to check, someone walking the halls who shouldn't be, and a night when the lights go out.
