About This Game

Wordy Space is a fast-paced space arcade game where typing is your weapon. Blast incoming threats, face bosses, and upgrade your ship. Chase high scores in Classic Mode, type to the beat in Beat the Beat, or turn each target into a translation challenge in Polyglot.

Fight with Words

Type the words on asteroids, satellites, aliens, and boss attacks to destroy them before they reach your ship. Keep your accuracy high, build combos, and withstand increasingly intense waves.

Choose and Upgrade Your Ship

Fly Orion, Scorpius, or Aquila, each with its own passive ability. Earn WS coins during runs and invest in permanent upgrades for your ship and powers.

Turn the Tide with Special Powers

Clear space with EMP, slow the action with Sands of Time, or strike multiple targets with Blackbolt. Choose the tools that suit your playstyle and use them when the pressure builds.

Beat the Beat: Type to the Rhythm

Time your words to the music, hit satellite notes with Shift, and hold through linked targets. Aim for precise timing and higher scores. Includes The Drifter's Illusion and an editor for creating your own song packages.

Polyglot: Translate to Survive

Type a target's translation instead of copying the word you see. Choose levels from A1 to C2 and combine several source languages with a single answer language. For example, a Turkish "elma" target is answered with "apple" in English. Practice in Learning Mode, revisit difficult words, and track your progress.

Create Your Own Content

Customize visual themes, prepare Polyglot word packs, and chart songs in the Beat the Beat editor. Use the Steam Workshop publishing tools to share themes, word packs, and song packages with the community.

Chase Your Next Record

Compete on global and dictionary-specific Steam leaderboards in Classic Mode. Your captain's log tracks runs, hunted words, typing speed, and accuracy, so you can follow your progress beyond a single score.

Nine Dictionary Languages

Play with German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish dictionaries.

Future Plans

Co-op and league-based PvP are planned for future updates, alongside continued dictionary and content improvements. These plans may change during development.
